Built by Steve Wynn's Mirage Resorts in 1998, the Bellagio is one of the more elegant hotels and casino properties on the Las Vegas Strip. Water, music and light dance together in the daily Fountains of Bellagio show, while nature lovers yearning for greenery in the intense city Strip can step into the hotel's Conservatory and Botanical Garden, where a range of rare plant species create seasonal bursts of color. Many priceless paintings from Steve Wynn's personal collection are also on permanent display around the Bellagio.

In the evenings, fabulous dining at Jasmine, Jean-Georges' Prime, Olives and Sensi plus all-night bars and cocktail lounges make 3600 Las Vegas Boulevard South a dream destination for those looking to splurge.

Casinos, dining, shows, - mini-Europe', shopping ' those staying at the Bellagio on this segment of the Strip are in for entertainment overload.

The first Las Vegas chef to be honored with the James Beard Award for "Best Chef, Southwest," Serrano showcases his ingredient-driven, seasonal cuisine in two masterful menus: a four-course tasting menu and a five-course Chef's Degustation. Picasso is the proud recipient of the AAA Five Diamond Award of Excellence for 2002, 2003 and 2004. In addition, surveyors in the 2002 Zagat Las Vegas Restaurant Survey voted Picasso "Most Popular Restaurant" in Las Vegas.

Bellagio: Not What it Used to Be

It is still a good hotel, but it is certainly not what it used to be and there is much better value to be found on the Strip these days. We stayed for a friends’ pre-wedding and the treatment was nothing special. As a bonus, the room we were given was not only average, but was not cleaned when we walked in either. In short: nothing special. Enjoy the fountains, but stay somewhere else. Furthermore, I am also well aware of the fact that many night clubs within these hotels are independently managed, but a special mention is due for Hyde: it is by far the worst (“disgusting” would be a more fitting term) night club I have ever seen. Rude and incompetent staff is pretty much the norm for most night clubs in the US, but at least in Vegas the club itself, the crowd, and the DJs normally counterbalance that. Hyde must have dedicated a substantial effort to be awful on all fronts.

Couple getaway

Hotel lived up to its reputation. The variety of shops and restaurants was a plus. The location was also convenient. For instance having a theater on premises was as luxury. In addition, the performance was excellent. We would consider a return stay. Especially after visiting a majority of the other casinos on the strip.
