Don't bother
Poor location and outside balconies were treated like frat houses with people outside screaming, yelling, smoking and drinking until well into the AM hours. Additionally, Central Ave is a cruising street with booming car stereos and hundreds of load motorcycles driving up and down 24/7

Ok, but not memorable
the furnishings were old and minimal in the room. It was clean (although the rugs looked stained) and quite. The toaster didn't work and the staff didn't make any effort to get it working when asked. Had to go to the desk to get a cable to use room internet.

The breakfast was a great time to meet others. The shuttle was very convenient. I went to the convention center every day. It was available at all times.

Unassuming Exterior
excellent service, close walk to convention center and helpful staff and shuttle service. No wifi in the room. Had to use lobby for my MAC until I could get adaptor for my USB port. But who can complain about free!

Short walk from hotel
Flying Star Cafe and Lindy Diner. Try not to be underwhelmed at exterior paint and need for new carpet. Rooms were clean and beds extremely comfortable. I was there for a week and service and hospitality were consistently good.

The Hotel Blue
I was attending a two day meeting at the near-by Embassy Suites near I25, and I chose this hotel because it was not expensive and had an airport shuttle. This hotel is about 5 blocks from the convention center, an easy 8 min walk. There was an on-site security guard and a wrought iron fence around the parking lot because of the location. There were only a few resturants/bars near the convention center but I would not recommend a female guest walking un-escorted at night. The room was quite and clean and the staff was friendly and attentative. I would stay here again but rent a car to drive to better resturants. The complimentary continental breakfast was better than most hotels (B-) and the two computers in the lobby were convenient for checking emails. I did not use the pool and do not know if there is an exercise room.

Comfy beds and great TV!
I usually travel with my two young children and this is the first time I didn't bring them. I chose this location because it was near downtown and I thought my husband and I would go see a movie and have dinner at Tucano's restaurant, but once we got to the room, it was late due to the construction on Central and the bed was soooo comfortable and the TV was huge that we just decided to stay in. When we got to our non-smoking room it smelled like cigarette smoke and even our towels (2) smelled like smoke. It seemed to linger and continued to drift in our room from some where. we were so tired that we fell asleep and I slept all night and didn't wake my husband by tossing. Our tempur-pedic beds were sooo comfy! but the cigarette smoke came back in the morning. I told the front desk and all they said was, that's not good and apologized and that was it. I thought they would offer some sort of discount next time we stayed but they didn't. Overall I probably won't be coming back because I have kids and the location, the outside balconies and nightlife at the location is not great for kids. Although the park across the street from the hotel has an open market/farmer's market on Saturday mornings that would be great to go to... I recommend this hotel for people traveling with out children.

Nightlife tip:
Long walk from hotel
you could go to pubs, restaurants and the movie theater from the hotel if you don't mind walking, but I would rather drive because the further you get from the busy part of downtown to the hotel that's across from the park...it's quiet and dark and that scares me a little to be exposed like that. I would drive but you have to pay parking fees to go to the theater.
