Poor service
I am sorry to report that the staff at the front desk is not courteous or helpful. In fact, this evening they went out of their way, specifically Elisa, to provide a poor level of customer service. The room itself was nice. I am a Diamond member with Hilton and travel to the NYC area often, but this was my first stay at the DoubleTree Jersey City. It will be my last and I recommend to others not to stay here due to the poor customer service (no customer service) at the front desk.

Would not let me add the Hilton Honors points to my account. Noisy at night. Beds were great. Could use two flat screen tvs in the room as you had to use the bed to watch tv not the couch.

Nice family place to be
The staff were great.. With cookies served when we arrived. The room is clean without any unpleasant smell. If we would come back to Jersey City we will again stay at this hotel. And definitely we will recommend it to extended families.......

Great Value in Jersey City
Overall the hotel was a good experience. The location was great for access to the city or local transit with light rail. The hotel is close to the waterfront walkway for a nice walk up to Hoboken. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I'd stay here again.

Hotel is close to the Newport Path Station. A car rental is not needed for access to Newark airport or access to the city.

Great location for Manhattan and more!
We were staying in this location because we were attending a wedding in Jersey City; additionally, we have friends and family throughout NYC and it was a convenient, well priced location for us! The front desk was very and helpful; the only issue we had was with the neighboring parking garage which was a bit defective (not letting people out)! The clerks helped real quicly.

Good Jersey City pick - but, no cookies?
We usually stay at the Westin, but the Doubletree was a cheaper option this time around. It was clean, the staff was really nice, and the location was perfect for us. It is very close to the PATH. The Doubletree's signature is delicious, freshly-baked cookies upon check-in. There were no cookies to be found the entire weekend we stayed here. If it's something they advertise, it's probably something they should deliver on.

We had a wonderful time here. The hotel staff were so helpful and helped us with maps, information etc. The hotel is very close to the train station, so NYC is just a hop away. There's a mall close by in case you need something. Overall, it's a great hotel and would definitely stay there again.

nice..but be careful booking
Very nice Hotel located near the Newport PATH station. Room was very clean. The only issue is I booked a room with a King bed and was given a room with a double bed. When I called the front desk to see if they would change they said that I needed to specify King bed on my reservation (which I did). I was then told there were no more rooms available with King beds.

Good choice
For a NYC visit, we stayed in this Jersey City location to save some money. Great solution. The hotel was great. Staff was warm, friendly and so helpful. Location of two blocks from the Path to NYC worked well - and we were 4 women who were inexperienced at train hopping. And the warm chocolate chip cookies on arrival was a nice topper.
