Value in the NYC Area
I wanted a hotel close enough to NYC for business yet not the NYC prices. Edison Hotel worked out just fine. Clean, quiet, but without the amenities: In room coffee maker did not work and the TV got just a few basic channels. But no problem. I wanted and affordable place, clean, safe, and convenient. Free parking outside. Prices better than the national chains located nearby, and why so? I wasn't paying a corporate CEO or for a fancy ad campaign. Next visit to the NYC area will include a booking at the Edison.

Short drive from hotel
Portugese Manor in Perth Amboy. Soccer from Lisbon, vin Vasco de Gama, and a lamb stew to die for: all in a setting that you couldn't replicate- even in a movie.

Good for a Midpoint Stay
Used this hotel to cut up the trip from DC to MA. Great for that, but not much else. The staff were friendly, but everyone seemed a bit weary and simply unable to help, though they tried. As well, it was hard to procure a luggage cart, so that made going in hard. As to the amenities, good for what it is. But the location is a bit set back, so it felt a bit unsafe when arriving there at night. No troubles at all though, just an ambiance.

Great price for quality

Good Business Trip Hotel
The staff was awesome, friendly and very effecient. The room was comfortable and the cleaning staff made sure threre were all the things needed for a good stay.

Acceptable, not great.
Room wasn't available until 45 min after check in time. The staff asked me to wait in the lobby, but then didn't notify me after the room became available. The room was ok, but the AC didn't work well, the bathroom sink faucet was leaking, and there was graffiti on the bath mirror which evidently nobody bothered to remove. Also, there was no bath fan and poor air circulation.

GOOD LAST MINUTE VALUE
Very clean rooms, but is located in an industrial park. Even with a GPS it was a little hard to locate. good over all value. There's a great Deli attached to it and the hotel gives all guests a special menu with discounted prices.

Mold and mildew
The room smelled of mold and mildew. The bathroom had not been cleaned; the sink still had toothpaste in it and hair in the shower stall.
