overall experience
The lobby was clean and with a good smell, but going to our room the stairs has a bad smell. And around 10pm many people where talking loud and running on the hall way, that I have to call to the lobby. The carpet has 2 burn iron on it, it looks bad. We'd love to have microwave and refrigerator. We stayed for 3 nights and no one offer us extra bathroom items. the bath tub needs to be wash with bleach, because at the second night started to have orange color on the edges. Also the shower contain was bad on the bottom.

Weekend getaway
I would say over all was good, except after working all day then flying to get to New York i just wanted to get a shower and relax, but that was not the case. iI checked into he Hotel at appromately 12:15am afound out the computer system was not working and they could not give a room even tho its was already payed for, so I did not get a room until 1:30am in the morning... the hotel clerk was very nice an i felt sorry for him because he was trying his best to take care of the situation......

Comfort Inn Edgewater
[...] This was by far the least expensive. overall, the room was nice, comfortable, temperature control was quiet, and kept room cool. the location was convenient to where we needed to be. The morning food service was adequate for our purposes, and included in the price. Our only issue were that the walls were paper thin, and any hotel noises from guests or staff around our room were easily heard. I would recommend earplugs.

Very nice room for the price
I had to get a room on very short notice (earlier on the check-in day) to visit New York from Massachusetts. Luckily, the room here was very nice, and had free wireless access. My only frustration was that the hotel finder said it was only 1 mile away--across the river from New York, as I found out. That made the commute a little frustrating for someone from out of town, who wasn't used to the NY/NJ transit system, but even then it wasn't terrible, and both the hotel and transit staff were very helpful.

New York Alternative
Comfort Inn Edgewater was very nice for the money and is located directly on the Hudson River's edge. Great views of New York City are visible from the room. It was clean and the staff was friendly. No elevators in the hotel. Stairs only! Plenty of places to eat along River Road. Very cheap public bus ride into New York with a stop right on the corner at the hotel.

great for weekend getaway from nyc
Our second night at the Comfort Inn-Edgewater was in a room facing the Hudson river across NYC. That was a wonderful calming view especially after having been to NYC. Continental breakfast provided by the hotel was good and the the breakfast area was clean.

Short walk from hotel
There is a walkway along the Hudson behind the hotel and it looks safe. You see mostly couples or families walking. A few minutes walk from there in one direction you'll find WHOLE FOODS supermarket- that was really great!!
