Econo Lodge Carlstadt

This is not my first time in this area, but I was truly disappointed in this motel. I booked this motel from your pictures on the website, which by the way must have been from years and years ago! This property no longer looks this kept up and maintained. It is run down, needs rennovation inside and out. The middle of the building, called the court which is where breakfast is served from 6:30 am to 9:30 am? is unheated, so you wear a coat to get something eat early in the am before they clean(?) up. It was noisy and the view was of a run down, beaten up noisy warehouse 100 ft away. I would not recommend this motel. The website pictures are truly false.

The facility seemed a little down at the heels but inspite of the posts in the underground parking area, the noise from the street and the weather which made the key locks difficult, the experience was pleasant and the staff was very helpful. We were looking at price and in this location, it was a great value.

For me the location was everything. It was very close to the place where we going.

Hotel was staff were ok when we arrived. I was surprised at the small room. We stayed three nights. On the very first night I started itching. I could not sleep and was having a little problem with breathing. In the morning it was so bad I asked the hotel manager if I could switch rooms. I asked this because I had noticed, what I believe to be mold in the bathroom. The bathroom was very run down compared to the rest of the hotel room. The manager was nice and when I explained the problem changed us to a recently remodeled room. It was even smaller than the first room but much much better in style, smell and cleanliness. My itching and breathing problems went away within a few hours of moving to the new room. I would not stay again and I would not suggest this hotel to another person. Would like my money back. I did try to get another hotel but they were WAY to expensive and to far away.

The staff was very friendly and personable.. there were waffles and plenty of coffee to go around.. but it was not very clean.. spots on the carpet.. and the air conditioner only worked on super cold! so I had to keep turning it on and off every couple of hours.. the dresser was covered in some sticky substance.. I think they were severely understaffed.. I only saw one housekeeping person my entire stay.. and she looked tired..lol

I just stayed for sleep. The room was OK, but since I was in business travel, I wanted the iron for may suits. There was no iron in the room.

We just needed it for two nights for new years and it worked out well..caught a bus right across the sreet down into new york.

I would go back there every year to see the Giants play! Great location and lots of friendly people!!!

The hotel was great. The price was reasonable. When I got there the hotel computer had gone down and the staff was having difficulty bringing it back up. They asked if I had any prove I had a reservation. I showed them my confirmation email on my phone and that was good enough for them. I was in my room resting from a long drive within 5 minutes. The staff was great and very understanding. I strongly recommend this hotel.

It was a great hotel at a reasonable price.
