Weekend getaway

Booked this hotel for a weekend with a friend. Have stayed at the Tropicana and been pleased, in the past. However, this time, our room was very outdated and the carpeting stained and dirty. The room served it's purpose, but it was not like what we have stayed in before.

Another AC Trip

This is my eighth or ninth time staying at the Tropicana in Atlantic City. The experience was pretty standard to what I've come to expect, and had the always worth it benefit of not having to leave the building for things to do (even though we did for a bit). Fun, drinking, karaoke, gambling. That's AC in a nutshell.

If you like karaoke, book the private room in Planet Rose. $10/person per hour and worth it. Waitress service in the room, no waiting in lines, beer bucket and margarita carafe service (extra charge). Definitely good for large groups.

Good for what we wanted

Went for a friends birthday on a Saturday night. $200 room which I thought was a great price for a Saturday! Tropicana is great if you plan on/would like to do everything without leaving the hotel/casino! We ate and went to providence night club and gambled a bit. Clean and comfortable place to stay. Room was not opulent and had a small old tv but who goes to ac to watch tv!? Overall it was a good experience

Too Old and Too Expensive

First off, it was very expensive to book a Saturday night at this hotel. Much too expensive for the Havana Tower room we were given. Our room was OLD. It had a tube tv, a desk, and one nightstand. No ipod plug in. No sofa. No mini bar. The carpet was stained in multiple spots. Black stains. Red stains. Brown stains. It was just dirty. Noone even dared to use the shower the next morning and all just went straight home instead. When we called down to the Concierge for a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine, we were told that they'd have to charge us $3 and that room service was currently 90 minutes behind schedule. What? Most hotels in AC include a corkscrew in the mini bar already and 90 minutes behind schedule? Were they actually serious? The only good thing about the Tropicana is the location, as you're closer to the boardwalk than some of the newer casinos. But if they hope to stay open and keep up with the other, newer hotels, they better do some renovations asap. I will never stay there again.

Stayed in North Tower

I have stayed in the Trop many times, but his time I we stayed in the North Tower to be closer to the casino. We usually stay in the Havana Tower, but this was just as nice...a little smaller with more of a 'hotel' feel, but was fine. On the 17th floor with an ok view of the water and the other wing of the hotel. Booked with a code and got a great rate. Down side is that you can't walk to that much (you can but it is a hike)...but there are lots of places to eat and drink at the Trop. Nice stay.

Halloween Weekend

I stayed at the Trop for the Halloween weekend. There were no late check-outs the day I was leaving. I found the wifi a bit spotty, and the business center is not open on the weekends, making it harder (but not impossible) to do work on off-days. Parts of the resort allow for Comcast/Xfinity customers to use their free wifi where the Trop's don't. On the upside, the selection and price of the restaurants in the resort were good.
