Reunion

Front desk: called, would ring several times with no answer and when they did none of them were pleasant (didn't come across as liking their job) BUT: every restaurant, service counter or store we went to the staff was VERY PLEASANT and the front desk staff can definately learn from them. The housekeeping staff was fabulous!

Spartan, but comfy

Friendly, helpful staff. Lots of walking to get anywhere inside resort. Needs to give maps of layout or have more interactive maps --hard to find anything, except by walking around for what seemed like miles! Too many kids in the casino.

Made the best of it

Great location, clean beds, filthy prego floors in the room, ash trays in room were still full of old cig butts upon checkin, lighting is very dim, no good for makeup ladies! No control over the temperature, it's all central air and gets warm at times. The bathroom wasn't very clean but we made do, it was OK, nothing fancy. Room service for 2 bacon egg and cheeses that we actually had to make ourselves came to a total of $70.00, better off eating out. The Hotel's staff were either very friendly or beyond rude, there was no happy medium. All in all, it was a decent stay for the price.

Excellent family getaway

Why? There is something for everyone. You have the casino and clubs for the grown-ups, the NJ boardwalk, beach and amusement park for the grown-ups and kids. High end and great bargain shopping at all the casino and downtown. I visit Atlantic City about 22 years ago and wow what a different now. From around 13 Casino then to around 20 or 25 casino now. They all some how is attached to the boardwalk. I love this place over Las Vegas because of the beach, boardwalk and amusement park. The Hotel Tropicana is one of the older casino in Atlantic City and for some, it maybe a little dated for them. It was the perfect stay for my family. The room was very clean and cleaned everyday. The staff was courtesy and professional and the food. Wow, I was blown away by the food served at the fiesta buffet at the Tropicana. The food was all season to perfection. I have travel a lot in the pass thirty years and the fiesta buffet at Tropicana is by far the best buffet I 've had the honor to dine in. I would avoid the cheese steaks at Tony Luke, enough said about that one. Thank you Tropicana for a great stay!

A great 3D theater I think it is about 25 places to dine None smoking and smoking sections in casino/a big plus! High end shopping downtown near train stations Please check out the Aquarium Use Jitney for transportation around town very reasonable: $2.25 each person each way. $10.00 from airport and $15.00 pickup from hotel to airport. Try the dolphin watch boat ride near the aquarium
