It's all about value.
Needed a place for overnight due to a wedding we attended and didn't want to pay the exhorbitant rates at the casino hotels or the "higher end" places. While this Travelodge wasn't the "Taj" it did have a very friendly attentive staff, clean bed-linens and bathroom. The furniture and walls were worn and scuffed, the ceiling paint was peeling but we had a beautiful view out our window. The continental breakfast was the usual stuff, which was replenished regularly and served in a pleasant spacious area off the lobby.

Nice Place to Stay for the Money
We were greeted at the front desk by very friendly and accommodating staff. We were let into our room before check in time because we were early. The room was basic but very clean and had a safe and a microwave. It was only a 5 minute drive to the AC strip which was nice. The breakfast was cereal, pastries and bagels which was more than sufficient for our needs. I would recommend this hotel for a nice, cheap stay close to the boardwalk.

Off the main strip...
I thought I would be better off saving money by staying off the main strip but it turned out to be a pain in the butt. Getting from hotel to the boardwalk was a nightmare. The free shuttle the hotel offered was unreliable, undependable and showed up late and so full of people that we were told to wait. We eventually had to walk out to the highway and flag a bus down. Getting a cab or shuttle from that far out is a joke and I would not recommend it. Getting back was a $30 cab ride. The wireless internet in the hotel did not work, and had not been working for at least a week ahead of my stay, I called in advance to see what that was all about. So, they can't get Comcast to fix it in less than a week? Front desk didn't appear to be so bright. After I received my keys to my room I had to ask how to get there. The place is pretty big and you would think that the front desk would at least say which way my room was, not there. Next time I'll pay more and just stay on the strip and enjoy my trip instead of spending a lot of time and energy getting there and back to the hotel. The room was ok, nothing to write home about.

Entertainment tip:
Short drive from hotel
Ended up paying for a cab to get home from the strip because the shuttle down there was such a disaster, so add $30 for cab fare each way to your planned expenses.

wouldn't stay here again
The staff was nice enough and the rooms looked clean on the surface but the next morning one of us had bug bits that weren't there before we went to sleep. The free wifi was only in the lobby not in the rooms and they didn't waste any heat for the indoor hallways.

Hotel is filthy, filthy, filthy. Run down. Dirty carpet. Hallways wreak of a lovely aromatic combination of curry and cigarettes. Rooms are dirty, dusty, and horribly out dated. Holes in the walls, broken bathroom door, mold on the air conditiner unit. Pool is a joke. Not one lounge chair to be found. We booked a last minute trip to the beach and this was one of the few hotels with available rooms. I couldn't wait to get home to spray myself down with lysol.

End of summer get away
Perfect for the money we paid. . .Kids had tv, pool, wifi and husband and girls got to go crabbing right behind the hotel and momma had peace an dqueit lol!!! A short drive to anywhere we wanted to go so the location was perfect. Only problem we had was the ice machine on our floor always seemed to be out of ice BUT just a short trip up the elevator and we had some..

Horrid place
7 days of hell - 1st day - wallpaper off the wall. Holes in walls, wallpaper held together by staples and bathroom was so mildewed. 2nd When we came back at night, our room had not been done AT ALL 3rd Room cleaned and wallpaper was pasted down but bathroom still had mold and mildew all over it 4th woken up by banging on door at 10AM even though there was a do not disturb sign on the door. They wanted to clean the room. Our Room was not cleaned again. 5th day room cleaned but we had water dripping from the ceiling. When front desk was called we were told it would be fixed the next day. It was not fixed for 2 days (this happened on the 4th day). 6th We were just thankful that it would be our last day. Happily we left on the 7th day. I always thought that Travel Lodge was a clean, inexpensive place to stay - Was I wrong!!! They had breakfast but we never had breakfast there. Plus the beds are just horrible.
