showboat is a gamble...
This was not the best place to stay. I went to this hotel for an event @ the house of blues. The event was completely mis-managed & was not what they advertised. I really wanted a refund. The light bulbs in the room were blown & the iron did not work. I will never stay at the showboat again. I probably won't be going back to Atlantic City. If you don't drink or gamble there is not much to do. House of Blues is a joke. The security at the event were absolutely terrible kicking out the road crew of one of the group because they had no wristbands. Really not a good scene. Don't waste your money. At least stay at the Taj Mahal.

Good Experience
First visit to the Showboat. Room was larger than expected and very clean. Staff were great (fast, nice, etc...) including when we requested more pillows and towels. Would definitely stay again.

Great Extended Weekend
The hotel and casino were great, clean and comfortable, staff was helpful and polite. The rooms were nice, but the bed was uncomfortable and left me with back and my partner with back pains by the time we left. The dining experience within the hotel was extemely expensive and over rated, you are better off eating at one of the diners on the boardwalk or the Johnny Rockets within the Showboat. The hotel's location is extremely convenient, within walking distance of the other casinos and the boardwalk shops. Overall the experience was satisfying for an extended weekend, but anything longer would have been a problem only because of the uncomfortable bed.

Short walk from hotel
Check out Bill's Gyro Souvalki on the boardwalk; it also serves diner style breakfast and lunch. Very affordable and the food is pretty good.

Nice Hotel, Poor Clientel
This hotel in itself is great, however, the clientele that comes is very low end and makes for an unpleasant experience. I experienced long slow lines in checkin, valet, valet pickup, etc. Also the table games have high minimums which I thought was strange for the average person who was there. There are better options for similar prices in AC.

Dirty
We could not get into the room during check in time because they said the room was not ready yet. The man said 15 min. We waited 45 min before I went to ask again. I went to the customer service counter where they said it would be another hour. We had dinner reservations that we were about to miss. We were annoyed because we were going to miss our dinner and had to stand in the lobby holding our bags. Finally, the hotel gave us $100 to spend anywhere in the hotel. We decided to go to the fancy dinner in our jeans (bc we could not get into the room to change and shower). Our food at capa da noplia was terrible!!! I got chicken parm and my boyfriend got pasta with meatballs. The best thing about the meal was the diet cokes we ordered!! When we finally got to our room it was dirty. The trash was not taken out and their were beer bottles everywhere. After all said and done, the room was nice but dirty. I would not stay here again.
