Double billed
Everything was okay but I was double billed for the room. The hotel said it will reimburse me in four days. Good thing I look at my bank statements.

Room cleaning optonal
This is the first hotel that I've ever stayed at where it was assumed that the room would only be cleaned when requested, not as a matter of daily course. We realized this when, at 4PM, our room had still not been cleaned and we had to request cleaning on a daily basis. Room furnishings were in poor repair and uncomfortable. Drapery was soiled. The whole hotel needs some serious updating - carpets throughout the hotel patched with tape, elevator floor indicators not working, etc. Waited an hour for breakfast one day. Would definitely not recommend.

AC TRIP
The main reason I wanted to stay at the Showboat was the House of Blues. I am in to music BIG TIME and was a little disappointed that there were no bands thru the week. Room was ok, did have a "musty" smell to it. People were very friendly. Visited many other hotels and really liked the Showboat casino/slot machines area. Very bright and pretty. Would come back.

In need of an UPGRADE!!!
I usually stay at hotels where the rooms are clean. This was my 1st stay @ the Showboat and willl be my last. The bathroom towel bar was broken, the back of the bathroom door needed soap and water not just dusting. There was no room safe, the carpets were all stained and the room was very dark. We did have a lamp which had no outlet, so personnel hooked it up to the entertainment center. We were moved to another tower which was much better!! If I stay again, I will always request the Bourbon Tower NOT the other one. I put that one out of my mind. Overall the casino smoking section takes over the entire 1st floor. So if you have allergies, pick another hotel.

Good place to stay if you go to the HOB
Stayed here because we went to see a show at the House of Blues. When we got to the room some guy from housekeeping told us he just finished cleaning the room. Did a quick check of the room and it "seemed" clean, wish we checked better. Later when we went to bed, discovered the sheets in one of the beds was dirty and ripped. Also found a huge hairball and other nastiness in the room. Called housekeeping about the problem, they came up in 10 minutes (this was at 1:00am). The maid was appalled at the mess and called a supervisor up to see it. The beds were remade and the room vacuumed and cleaned again. While waiting outside, noticed fruit flies in the hallway and then in our room. We were glad the room was cleaned again, but still felt icky staying there. This was my first and last time staying here, won't be doing that again.

A good get away after the surgery
I came to this hotel right after I had the knee surgery. Everybody were lovely there. The room was good but not everything I needed was there like iron for example or the remote control didn't work. I enjoyed the buffet and the atmosphere. I do recommend to stay there because it is my expensive and great things you can do there like playing casino or sitting on a bar.

Can't Recommend this Hotel
Parking: attendant advised that our $10 parking fee would be credited to the cost of the hotel since we were staying there. Not the case. The room was next to the elevators, so had to get it changed due to the noise. This room was supposed to be "non-smoking", but smelled of smoke and the chemicals they use to cover it up. We booked a king room, but when we went to change it, they would only give us one with two beds. The hotel misrepresents the cost of the room per night because they add an additional $10.00 for "hotel charges". What are they? Bottom line; by the time you add up the room rate, hotel charges, taxes and fees, and parking, a $71.42 room ends up costing $102.03. It's still reasonable, but we wouldn't stay there again.
