Fun Mardi Gras Atmosphere
We enjoyed the colorful and fun party atmosphere of the Showboat. The casino floor had lots of slot and game choices, although they seemed tight--we never got a machine to let us play on very long. Its more fun if there's a little more give and take with the machines. The room was wonderful and ready for us when we arrived. It was clean and comfortable, nicely decorated and good amenities. I happened to be on crutches (not a planned event for this trip) so the soaking tub felt real nice on my swollen foot. Complimentary wheel chairs were also a nice option for me (or scooter rental if needed) and handicapped accessibility was very good. The cafes had good breakfast options and the House of Blues was good for a casual dinner. We were disappointed that the steak restaurant was not open during our stay so we went to Gallagher's in another casino. All in all the stay was a fun experience. The shuttle service between the Harrah's resorts was was a big plus and the boardwalk was very impressive.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Try as many different restaurants as possible--there are so many options for good steaks and ethnic selections. For a great hamburger, try the Burger place at the Taj Mahal--expensive, (just the burger is $10) but big and tasty>

Good couple days get away
Overall, the hotel is nice excpet the lighting set up in the room. It's too dark in the room. Al it has a table lamp and some lighting in the hall way. If you want to sit down by the table to write something or work onyour laptop, you need a flash light. The pool is out door on the roof. And it's very windy on the roof so It needs at least 85 degree to use the pool.

Nice Mardi Gras style
The room had a nice view very comfortable beds but I found an action figure buried in the sheets, and the bathroom shower curtain had some mold on it. The fitness center needed some upkeep. Very dusty. the restaurants service could be better as well.

Nice
The Showboat was both family friendly and also had a good amount of young people. I would advise making reservations for dinner, my friends and I did not, and we ate at the buffet(was ok, not great)The room was very nice & the bathroom was nice and roomy. My 2 complaints about the room was that there were no lighting near the mirrors in the room (besides in the bathroom) & the outlets were a little worn and was not holding the hair appliances I brought. Other than that the room was nice and the stay was pleasant. Good room for a good price. Very close to other hotels also!!

My friends an I went out at The Pool in Harrah's. $25 to get in but was a lot of fun. Make sure you call before to see what kind of music they're playing that night b/c they only played House when we went and wasn't as much fun for us. Beautiful place though!
