Great For The price

I loved this hotel the room was big and had a sofa, the tub was big enough for two. It is one of the last hotels on the boardwalk so prepare to walk alot, I love getting air so it was okay. The pool is seasonal so that sucked. Oh and bee aware that you have to put down 100 deposit just in case something happens to the room...they did not make us aware of this and had no card and had to basically go out our way with heavy bags to get one. Other then that it was great .

Regarding pets

We stayed in a pet-friendly room at the Showboat. THANKFULLY it was only one night. First, we checked in and were sent to our room only to find a dirty room, untouched by housekeeping. We tried to call the front desk from the room but the phone did not work in the room. We had to go back down to the front desk. They switched our rooms. Second room was clean but had an adjoining room door. What a terrible idea for pet-friendly rooms. The adjoining door was metal which amplified the sound of the dog next door. The dog in the next room barked and/or whined the entire time we were there. It was clearly not crated as it should be when left alone. You could hear it pacing and crying by the door. You could hear it barking all the way to the elevator bank. WORST NIGHT'S SLEEP I'VE HAD IN A HOTEL. I do NOT recommend the pet-friendly rooms (there are only 12 in the hotel). The pet "relief" area is a small grassy patch that is a very long walk from the pet-friendly rooms. Leave your pet with friends or family, save the $50 pet fee, and enjoy your time. Request any floor but the 8th floor in the Bourbon Tower. Steer clear of that floor or deal with pets with irresponsible owners.

Couples Getaway

My guest and I were looking to get away for a day. We both really enjoyed our visit. I was very impressed with the casino and the hotel room. Out only disappointments was the buffet was closed on Thursdays and the staff haggling couples to time shares. They kept asking us every time we passed them. That was annoying.

Never again

The hotel was ok. The staff courteous. The room was the turn off there were red stains on the carpet and behind the night table was a used condom and a used red bull container. This was horrible.
