The largest standard guest rooms at Atlantic City's first casino

The first and oldest casino in Atlantic City, Resorts Atlantic City opened in 1978 and recently added the Rendezvous Tower with new guest rooms. Its Boardwalk location is a short walk to the rides and arcade on the piers. On the third floor, a retractable glass roof reveals a heated indoor/outdoor pool and party-sized hot tub, free to guests. Stretch out for a suntan on the ocean-view sundeck. A casino, two theaters, a handful of restaurants and a 24-hour cocktail lounge keep choices varied but not overwhelming.

Highlights
  • Largest standard guest rooms in Atlantic City inside the new Rendezvous Tower
  • Boogie Nights weekend dance club with a 70s and 80s theme holds three 2010 Atlantic City Nightlife Awards
  • Free indoor/outdoor pool with retractable glass roof
  • Spa, salon, and health club (fees apply)
Rooms

Dating to the hotel's beginnings, Ocean Tower rooms have simple, light wood furnishings, bright bed coverings and oversized showers. Notably newer, Rendezvous Tower rooms are the largest standard guest rooms in town complete with Art Deco style, twin sinks, a makeup mirror and makeup desk. Find panoramic views and jacuzzi bathtubs in the Rendezvous suites. Avoid a line with electronic checkout from all rooms, plus premium channels, pay movies and Internet access (fees apply).

Features

Guests find action everywhere they turn from this high-rise Boardwalk locale on the beach. Dining highlights American favorites (steak, burgers, pizza, and casual, beach-inspired seafood) with Italian and Asian restaurants tossed in the mix. A daily fee grants guests access to the health club, home to a cardio fitness room, steam room, sauna, whirlpool, lockers and showers. Valet parking is available (fees apply).

Smoking

Hotel was nice and room was big. Only problem it was a smoking room, if not it smelled of smoke. I did ask for a non-smoking room. Also, hours of the pool and gym were limited. I'd try again only at a discount for the room.

Great experience

Overall it was a pretty good experience. STAFF- The staff was decent. They were very polite. Rooms- Check in is at 4 pm and we got there at 5 pm yet the room was still not ready. We received an upgrade to our room with 2 standard beds for 4 people. Instead of staying at the ocean tower, which was closer dining and the pool, we ended up at the rendezvous tower. It was a bit inconvenient having to walk from one end of the hotel to the other. We also didn't have an ocean front view at the rendezvous tower. However, the room was much larger than we expected. The size of the bathroom could have been another room. The bathroom had two sinks and the toilet was a separate room. It could fit 10 other people in it! The beds were comfy; the quality of the bed covers were much better than other hotels and the bottom of the bed is metal so you don't have to worry too much about bed bugs. Some things I didn't like was that one of the cabinets were missing part of a handle, the safe was broken, and there aren't many cable channels to watch. Dining- I only tried their buffet. If you really love snow crab legs, you should try it. But be prepared to get your hands dirty. Some of their desserts are good too such as the cookies and the mini rice pudding cups. Other than that, the rest of the food was average or below average. pool- The pool itself was pretty decent size. The jacuzzi is very small. It definitely needs a makeover.

Pretty Good Experience

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The best part was having comfy and clean rooms. The hotel itself was very elegant. The room was not ready when we arrived so they upgraded us to a room at the rendezvous tower. It was extremely comfortable, large room with two standard beds, and a very large bathroom with two sinks and even a separate door for the toilet. Only thing I have to say is the safe was broken and one of the handles to a cabinet was broken. There wasn't much of a view, which we would have had at the ocean tower. There were not alot of cable channels such as animal planet, cartoon network, hbo. The casino was downstairs so it was very convenient. The casino is filled with a lot of old slot machines. Dining and the pool was on the other side in the ocean tower, which was inconvenient. The buffet was good only if you like crab legs and getting your hands dirty. The shrimp was not good and I didnt find the rest of the food appealing. The pool was mediocre and the very small Jacuzzi was closed. The hotel was close to Revel and Showboat.

Bday getaway with hunny

This hotel was great for value. It was located right on the boardwalk which was ideal. The room looked a little dated but it was clean and well put together. We were able to check in 2 hours early which was also spectacular being that we didn't want to walk around with our luggage. The pool however was packed with young kids and adults got one hour worth of pool time which I was a little bumbed about but not too sad since the beach was right across the boardwalk. Overall, pleasant experience with a great location.

Very Romantic

Overall the stay was pretty awesome. The staff weren't as friendly as they should've been. The hot tub in the pool area could use a little cleaning and TLC. I would recommend this hotel to a friend, but try to get it for a little cheaper than $200 a night. I wish I did.

Rude front desk management

The front desk management was rude. Did not like the view from the rondeveus tower and asked to be moved, management staff was not very accomodating and rude. Otherwise it was a good experience with all other staff. Very clean, extra large bathrooms, room very large.
