The largest standard guest rooms at Atlantic City's first casino

The first and oldest casino in Atlantic City, Resorts Atlantic City opened in 1978 and recently added the Rendezvous Tower with new guest rooms. Its Boardwalk location is a short walk to the rides and arcade on the piers. On the third floor, a retractable glass roof reveals a heated indoor/outdoor pool and party-sized hot tub, free to guests. Stretch out for a suntan on the ocean-view sundeck. A casino, two theaters, a handful of restaurants and a 24-hour cocktail lounge keep choices varied but not overwhelming.

Highlights
  • Largest standard guest rooms in Atlantic City inside the new Rendezvous Tower
  • Boogie Nights weekend dance club with a 70s and 80s theme holds three 2010 Atlantic City Nightlife Awards
  • Free indoor/outdoor pool with retractable glass roof
  • Spa, salon, and health club (fees apply)
Rooms

Dating to the hotel's beginnings, Ocean Tower rooms have simple, light wood furnishings, bright bed coverings and oversized showers. Notably newer, Rendezvous Tower rooms are the largest standard guest rooms in town complete with Art Deco style, twin sinks, a makeup mirror and makeup desk. Find panoramic views and jacuzzi bathtubs in the Rendezvous suites. Avoid a line with electronic checkout from all rooms, plus premium channels, pay movies and Internet access (fees apply).

Features

Guests find action everywhere they turn from this high-rise Boardwalk locale on the beach. Dining highlights American favorites (steak, burgers, pizza, and casual, beach-inspired seafood) with Italian and Asian restaurants tossed in the mix. A daily fee grants guests access to the health club, home to a cardio fitness room, steam room, sauna, whirlpool, lockers and showers. Valet parking is available (fees apply).

Royal!

The hotel was perfect and the price was very good. But there was no breakfast included and most of the diners closed early!

GREAT FOR A ONE NIGHT STAY

THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL WAS GOOD. DISAPPOINTED THAT THE BUFFET WAS CLOSED ON MONDAY... TRIED TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS TO EAT BUT BOTH WERE CLOSED. WE ENDED UP GOING ANOTHER HOTEL TO EAT... LOOKED UNDER THE BED TO SEE IF I HAD EVERYTHING, WAS SURPRISED TO SEE IT WAS FILTHY...

Don't stay in Ocean Tower

The hotel was rooms are good if you are staying in Rendovous Tower. Those rooms were very good. I was booked for an Ocean Tower room and when I saw it I was very disappointed. It is not as pictured on your web site. It was very nice of person at desk to upgrade me to the new hotel when I went down to complain about the room I was placed in.

Average Stay

The location was great; on the boardwalk and close to all of the action. The restaurants and hotels were nice and visually appealing. The rooms were very outdated, I felt like I was in a film from the civil war-- definitely needs updating!! Overall average stay.

#1 Casino in Atlantic City? I think not!

On our way up to Atlantic City we saw a billboard that said "Resorts, #1 Casino in Atlantic City!". Upon arrival, the building looked very unkempt and old. We enter the lobby and it is clean, but dated compared to other casinos on the board walk. We go to check in and the clerk spends almost 30 minutes trying to find us a room. I have no idea why, but you would think since the room was paid for almost a month in advance that it would have been a simple "Welcome to the Resorts, here's your key and room #, Enjoy your stay!" Instead the clerk has to keep calling house keeping to see if a room is available and or clean. We were very frustrated about this. Finally they get us a room, we get to the room and it's clean, but boy oh boy.. The room needed a lot of work. The windows were dirty and had pictures of male genitalia and curse words drawn all over them with somebody's oily fingers (I bet they're still there), the smoke detector was hanging off of the wall by the wires, the carpet had several burn marks on it from the clothes iron, the floor to ceiling mirrors in the bathroom were damaged/needed to be replaced. These are just a few of the issues that we had with the room. The mattresses were extremely uncomfortable for my pregnant wife and I as well. I hope that nobody else gets stuck with this room in the future. It was the type of room you expect to see at a Motel 6, NOT a $200-$350 a night "Resort" hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to ANYBODY or stay here again unless they showed me the room ahead of time and it was in much better shape than the room we got. I don't usually complain about things, but I have never stayed in a casino hotel before and gotten a room in this kind of shape. We also dined at their restaurant late one night, I don't recommend this as their service staff was lacking and it took us almost 1 hour to get our initial order, however when we ordered something to go for one of our travel companions it arrived in 10 minutes. We assume the server forgot to put in our order, but we were not the only people experiencing slow service that night. Lots of people walked out.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

If you want to visit any of the other Casinos that are not on the boardwalk, take a cab it's about a 3-5 minute ride and it's a flat fee of $13. I wouldn't recommend walking in the middle of summer as there are a lot of intersections to cross.

You get what you pay for

This was probably the cheapest hotel I could find in such short notice, and there is a reason why: you get what you pay for. The rooms are regularly equipped...but with outdated amenities. The TV is straight from the 90s, but not in a retro way. They either have had that thing for at least a decade, or they bought it at a garage sale. The rooms itself weren't half bad, big comfortable beds and a decent sized bathroom and tub...except the bathroom was very dirty (looking). I've seen college dorm bathrooms cleaner than that. Grout was dirty, paint was chipping, airvent looked like it would crumble at any moment. Windows didn't seem that safe either, one of my rooms had a cracked window even.

Getaway

My experience at the Resort was pleasant, and the staff was accommodating. The only suggestion is that the carpet and the chairs in room 4424 be cleaned or replaced. I hope that you follow up with the concerns.
