An "A" rating for cleanliness???

The first room they gave us was FILTHY! Dirty walls, dirty bathroom, not even close to being clean. The second room was better, but there were ants everywhere in the room. Other guests were buying ant spray to use in their rooms. The customer service was good. But, I will NEVER stay in another hotel that dirty again. The free continental breakfast and Wi-Fi were nice, but it's disgusting to be sent to a hotel that we had to sanitize with Clorox wipes before we could use the bathroom.

The Waffle House right on the corner is pretty good. The staff there was really friendly, and we had some good, simple food.

Not worth the money!!

I am in the military and travel many times throughout the year and have stayed in every level of hotel. I was not expecting much from the econolodge due to the cost. I was disappointed though since surrounding hotels were same price and I have had better results from them. The first thing when I got there it took several minutes for the clerk to acknowledge me even though she was sitting right in front of me. Once she did she was not very pleasant. Upon entering the room I found it to be acceptable but did not appear to be very clean. I spent almost 30 minutes on hold with technical support only to be told to call back later. When I did call back I spent 22 minutes on hold and was disconnected. The ice machines on the 2nd and 3rd floor were broke and the pool said it was closed for cleaning the entire time yet nobody was seen cleaning it. I would not recommend this hotel since there are so many near by that are much better for the same price!

Needs Work

The hotel rooms were rather antiquated in their decor and showed signs of excessive wear and tear. Towels and floor mats were sometimes a bit tattered showing signs of longivity & excessive use. The tub had been recoated but was very slippery with the material chosen. The shower handle could rotate almost completely thus it was hat to regulate water tempuratere. The windows had hertemic seal failure and were cloudy and need replacing. The hotel security was very much lacking in that all the EXIT doors had card readers, but none of them worked. Thus ANYBODY could roam through the hotel freely right up to your room door. This hotel needs an update and renovation badly.

horrible

Worst hotel I ever stepped foot into. Mold ALL OVER the bathroom. Just appalling --- so horrible I don't even have words. We left immediately and tried to get our money back and of course they wouldn't give our money back. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible.

Mediocre

Fairly mediocre hotel. It was cheaply priced and the quality fit the price. The first room I was given had a heater that was cracked and broken, literally hanging into the room space. After I asked for another room, the room key didn't work because the battery was dead on the door key mechanism. The elevator creaked and made a loud booming sound when it stopped at your floor. Many people would be intimidated by the prospect that the elevator would stop working at any moment and use the stairs, but the stairs were not easily accessible with bulky luggage. Fortunately the elevator did not break down while I was there. The bathroom was small, cheap soaps and shampoo and the shower head sucked. At $62 a night, I felt like I overpaid. The lady at the front desk seemed bewildered and confused and I had trouble understanding her English.

Average at best

This was a stopping point for a trip to Atlanta. The hotel was picked based upon price and location. We expected to use the outdoor pool upon arrival and found out immediately that it was closed because something was wrong with the pump. To the clerk's credit he did arrange for us to use an indoor pool at another nearby hotel. The room we were initially given did not have a refrigerator which we needed because my wife is a diabetic and we needed go store her insulin. Initially we were going to be charged an additional $5.00 for the refrigerator which, again to his credit, the clerk waived once we told him why we needed the fridge. The room itself was fairly clean. The biggest complaint was that the AC unit was loud enough to keep me awake a good part of the night. The Econolodge website said that there were 3 restaurants adjacent to the property. Adjacent meant that you had to drive nearly a mile. The free wireless did not work. The "deluxe" breakfast was a joke and we ended up in Cracker Barrel. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. Would neither recommend nor would stay here again.

Do your research first!!!

I needed a room for a family reunion in NC, the weekend of Memorial Day. The one that my family had chosen said it would be about $149 plus tax for a double because it was bike weekend, so I checked on [...]. I found this hotel for about $69 with tax and passed the information on. My sister called the hotel and made her reservation for a rate of $64 plus tax. We checked in at the same time, and to my surprise she had a refrigerator and microwave in her room and I didn't. She said that the lady she spoke to said they come with all the rooms, so I called down to the front desk and requested one. The clerk said my room was prepaid and didn't come with one. Beside the fact that it did not contain the amenities as the room my sister had for $7 more including tax, the towels were not placed in a way to make you think the room was "clean". I had to request new towels from a house keeper, which could not speak or seem to understand English. Needless to say it took about one hour before I got the new towels. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for stays lasting more than one day.
