Perfect location
We were visiting Johnson and Wales University which is right next door. Breakfast bar was good and the rooms were adequate. The only gripe I would have is that we were in the rear of the hotel that overlooked new construction going on. We were up at 7am so the noise didn't affect our sleep. However if guests want to 'sleep in' they should request the front of the hotel.

Great New Year's Experience
We stayed at The Doubletree for New Year's 2012 and had a great experience. The location was extremely convenient to our event, the hotel was lovely and well appointed, the staff was courteous and attentive. We would absolutely choose The Doubletree in Charlotte again and in any other city we might travel to.

I suggest making plans to enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Options in the downtown area are very limited. We also had dinner one night at the hotel and it was excellent. Compliments to the chef.

Well worth the stay!
Orbitz lost our reservation....hotel did everything in their power to fix the situation, fix our dinner reservations in town and offer any assistance further. I would definitely stay there again! Great location, $5 cab fare to downtown restaurants, clubs and shopping! Note to future hotel stayers....local calls cost you! Try not to use the phone! :)

Charlotte Doubletree
The hotel was nice, but the staff was less than hospitable. We slept in late and room service called, woke us up, and informed us that they would not be cleaning our room if they could not get access to the room immediately.

A very good sleeping bed!
The hotel was very nice as always. The room had a few flaws. The first room smelled horrible so they switched and the second smelled fine. No tissues to be found, clock was set for an hour earlier and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. Door latch broke and the door couldn't be closed completely the next morning. Hair dryer had some slimmy substance on it. Other than these few hicups, the hotel experience was great!

Perfect Christmasy Getaway!
My boyfriend and I decided to take our annual Christmas trip this year to Charlotte and catch the Falcons play as well. The hotel was in the perfect location in reference to Panther's Stadium. If you are not an active person who minds a decent walk, the proximity to the city center attractions might be a bit far. We are both pretty active, so we didn't mind getting out and stretching our legs. It was quite cold that weekend so it did make the walks seem a bit longer. The hotel bar was nice, the lady bartending was awesome. Very informative and quite helpful. Only a couple of complaints about the hotel, on our hall when we got there Friday night there were room service trays outside a couple of doors. But the problem was those trays were still there Sunday afternoon and some had even more trays stacked on top. We found that to be a little ridiculous and gross to have to walk by half eaten food every time we came down the hall. There wasn't a mini fridge or microwave which we felt should be standard in most quality hotels and a heads up that parking would be an additional $12 a night might have been nice. Other than that everything was great!

Short walk from hotel
If you are going for a Carolina Panthers game this is the perfect place to stay. You don't have to worry with parking, you're already parked at the hotel. And google maps claims it's 1.4 miles to the stadium but it seemed much closer. Also all the great bars and restaurants are either walking distance or a short cab ride away!
