Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Charlotte I-85 Airport, NC

The amenities listed were: DVD player, Television with cable, Free newspaper, Hairdryer in room, Microwave, Fire alarm with light, In room movies, Sofa bed, Iron, Ironing board, Smoke detectors, Sprinklers in rooms None of the rooms had DVD players or in room movies besides HBO. The King bed rooms had enough room to move around, but the Queen bed rooms were very cramped. There was no sofa bed in any room, as there was no room for one! One King room had a fridge and microwave. The other two rooms had neither. The "fitness center" was a tiny room with a treadmill and little else. Bathroom fixtures were very old and stained and the tub in one room barely drained. The beds were surprisingly comfortable as long as you doubled the pillows. The cable TV signal on the old box TVs was grainy in all three rooms. There was a lot of confusion when we checked in and the front desk person misread our reservation and we ended up switching rooms around a couple times. She worked hard to get it right and seemed sincerely concerned that we were satisfied. In addition to those room switches, we ended up having to swap one of the rooms after discovering the A/C was erratic. Rooms were fairly quiet except when people slammed doors. The place needs some work, but a lot of the problems were that it was built small and it felt tiny and cramped in nearly every corner. Be aware that most of the rooms are just hotel rooms with no separate livingroom. If you are expecting that, based on previous Country Inn stays, you will be disappointed. The breakfast room was the only room we didn't feel cramped in and the breakfast was ok. I would rank this hotel a 2 - 2 1/2 star hotel. Not a 3. The kindness of the staff was welcoming, but not enough to overcome the actual facilities.

It provided convenience to the Charlotte airport and a good bed in a clean room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. But continental breakfast was poor, shower barely produced water, tv was old, hall carpets worn out, and there was no decent restaurant nearby, just fast food. Packed when flights are cancelled, so no apparent motivation to update, but hot breakfasts are promised for "Jan 2012."

I found this hotel on Orbits and i could not have been happier with everything. T

Front desk checked me into a room that was already booked. Bathroom was nasty, tub was not recently cleaned and there was some pee on the floor as well as the toilet not flushed. Other than that, not too bad, definitely overpriced though. Bed was comfy, good tv channel selection, quiet.

I was in Charlotte to give an Internet Security presentation. I had not stayed in a Carlson hotel in many years and decided to give this on a try. This Country Inn & Suites is located near the airport and near a small shopping area plus near 5 places to eat. It has a nice entry area and has most features one would need. The hotel is clean as was my room. The bed was comfortable. I have only one bad thing to say and that is that the toilet in the bathroom is about 3/4 standard size which also makes it be about 3/4 standard heigth. The toilet is also a little close to the wall beside it. The rest of the bathroom is of normal size.

A nice clean and convenient motel. The staff was exceptional and the morning buffet was very good. All in all a nice stay.

Overnight stay in quiet, clean room staff friendly and personable

We were there just one night, but we thought it was very nice. It was close to the airport and we had a Free shuttle there and back on our return flight. No charge for keeping your car there. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. We were there only one night so we didn't get into the pool, but it seemed just a few people would fill that area. The breakfast was great and Free. The staff was very polite, and helpful. We will be back.

Great hotel and staff very helpful. Very close to the airport. In this case, maybe too close since all through the evening you could hear the aircraft overhead landing at the nearby airport so it made it a little difficult to get a good night's rest. Everything else met our expectations.

When I arrived at my room I went in and nothing had been cleaned. I had to go back to the front desk to ask for a new room.
