This three-story hotel was part of the late NBC news broadcaster Chet Huntley's original vision. With recent remodeling, it is as tasteful as it is convenient. The Huntley complex includes a fine dining room, lounge, coffee cart, and concierge, shops, ski storage, meeting rooms, Solace Spa and is ski-in/ski-out to the core base area. There are 180 rooms that include two queen beds and one bathroom. Each room is 375 sq. ft. and sleeps four. Each is equipped with TV and wet bar with coffee maker and refrigerator. The hotel also has an outdoor swimming pool, two large outdoor Jacuzzis, weight room, saunas, room service, laundry, ice machines and vending.

Nice place!
Comfortable beds, nice rooms, close to slopes and good dining at Chet's Grill and buffet breakfast. It was a tad noisy at night and early morning in the hallways due to people who were clueless about how much noise they were making as they walked
to/from their rooms.

very family friendly and gorgeous atmosphere
The Huntley Lodge has an absolutely gorgeous lobby. The staff was accomodating with mobile issues and very friendly. The room was adequate and the beds comfortable. The bathroom had it's own sink with another little kitchenette sink. It had a
coffee maker and room refrigerator for your drinks and such. Room service was prompt each morning to change linens and to clean the room. Inside the lodge there are shops that you can buy clothing, shoes and keepsakes. There is also a restaurant that provides breakfast and dinner but not lunch each day. The shop operators are very friendly and knowledgeable. When we first arrived we were feeling kinda yucky and didn't know why. After talking to one shop operator we found out that because of the high altitude we MUST drink plenty of water. When we did so, we felt fine. They have a kids club that your children can participate in and a lovely heated pool. As this is way up in the mountains, the air is filled with pine. The adjacent properties were just like a swiss challet nestled into the nearby mountain that is absolutely lovely at dusk. There is a ski lift just next door. They also have what they call a mall just across the way in the next yard where there are shops and a small grocery store, a pizza joint, places to rent mountain bikes and buy ski lift tickets and a bar to hang out. There are activities like tennis and volley ball also. If you decide to go, you will not be disapointed with the atmosphere. The only things that I will caution on are the mountainous roads. There are less than 1% railings on those deep winding and bending curves. BE CAREFUL! when driving. I would not recommend driving at night if you're not used to driving such roads. It takes a little while to get down off the mountain and to get back to the lodge. The open space when you finally get down the mountain is breathtaking. There is a golf course nearby and a couple of gas stations. Also a bank. There is an atm machine inside the mall. Also the only really disappointing thing is there was no ariconditioning inside our room. Since we were so high up, the air at night and early moring was quite cool. like 50's and 60's so we did not suffer. The lodge provided standard issue fans and the rooms had windows that opened.
