great central location...but noisy!

very central minneapolis hotel, super comfortable beds and linens, excellent staff and service but it seems all the guests choose the hotel for its proximity to clubs and bars and wake everyone up at 2 am when the clubs close by yelling in the hallways. other than that, pleasant stay although $30 for parking per day, and then $12.50 for internet per day are pretty steep...internet should be included..

Our dog-AJ-loved it too!

We spend a two-nite get-away at the Westin and it had everything we wanted. A short walk to the river-walk (on the Mississippi), great restaurants & pubs nearby, nice pool & hot-tub, friendly staff, and pet friendly! We would definately stay here again!

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

We walked to the sculpture park, billed as the largest in the US, mosied through all the beautiful sculptures, and spent some time in the Walker Art Center as well. Lots of inspiration in a compact area!

Excellent service at top end hotel

When I arrived, there was no record of my reservation and they were sold out for the evening. I gave them my reservation numbers. They sent me to the lounge and bought me a beer while they sorted it out. 15 minutes later I had a very nicely appointed standard room. That evening I told them I needed a ride to the airport at 4:00 am and a cab was waiting for me the next morning. The hotel was a short walk to the ballpark. Couldn't have been any better.

Terrible service

The hotel itself looks fantastic and it is set in a great location. But that was the only positive...The staff was not helpful at all, our reservations got screwed up and we were booked in the wrong rooms, and they did not do much to help alleviate the situation. On top of that, whenever I tried to call no one in the staff answered the phone. Will NEVER stay here again and will advise everyone to stay away. There are so many better hotels with better staff, this is just not one of them. For the amount I paid and the reputation as a 4 star hotel, I expected a LOT better.

OVERPRICED - Not Worth What We Paid

My wife and I stayed here on a Sunday night for a concert because we thought it was a great location for a decent price. We could not check in early, which we expected. When we checked in late it took too long due to what we believed was the inexperienced staff on hand. In addition, we requested a city view room. The only part of the city we saw was the alley and the building next to the hotel. That is what I call faulty advertising. Also, when we woke up on a Monday morning the office building next door could see right into our room…awesomely uncomfortable. Moreover, when we entered the room it smelled of stale cigarette smoke with a sweet looking clunky humidifier going. I called the front desk and all they could say is "sorry about that but there is nothing we can do about it". They were rude and inconsiderate. Overall, in my opinion this hotel is OVERPRICED and not worth the stay. One is better off staying at a cheaper location because you will get the same outcome.

Classy stay downtown Minneapolis!

Lobby was gorgeous - right upon arrival you know you're staying at a 4-star hotel! The rooms were clean, beds were comfy and the showers were especially awesome. Our only complaint were the concierge dinner & drinks recommendations as well as the fact that the Lincoln town car "taxis" lurking around out front of the hotel are very misleading...dont take one! Way expensive and drivers don't know where they're going. But hotel itself was tops!

Luxurious and Affordable

Stayed at The Westin to catch a show at The Target Center. The staff was amazing, the room, a deluxe city view king was bright, elegant and comfortable. The staff happily gave us a slightly later check out and the experience was overall excellent! Would definitely stay here again.

Great location for a downtown stay

I spent weekend. Rate was good on those days. Great location for anything in downtown. The lobby is mostly the restaurant. Had a very good lunch and breakfast there. Rooms are typical great Westin furnishings. Saturday night had a couple of loud returns by "happy" guests that woke me. I will go back there again when the opportunity occurs.
