not a lot for the money

AC rattled noisily all night and smoke alarm started beeping at 5 am. This hotel was the best deal I could find in the Inner Harbor but I wish it had offered more. Whatever happened to the free hot breakfast campaign?? Room service was ridiculously expensive.

Perfect in every way!

Every year my best friend from college (who lives in NH) and I meet up for a weekend away. This year we chose the beautiful Inner Harbor of Baltimore and stayed at the Holiday Inn – which was a great choice! The staff was great in everyway – suggesting delicious restaurants, fun attractions and helping us figure out the transportation systems. As other reviewers have stated: this is NOT your average Holiday Inn. Do yourself a favor and stay here!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Grab a ride on the free 'Charm City Circulator' - this great, eco-friendly bus system that (as of September 2010) has 3 routes to take you around the city. There are two pick up locations near the hotel, which makes traveling around Inner Harbor even better.

A mixed blessing

Parking experience was expensive and inconvenient. Family in next room was loud till well after midnight. We finally gave up and went elsewhere for breakfast. On top of all that it was very expensive - more than $200 dollars for a average kind of motel room. We definitely will NOT go back to this hotel.

Birthday getaway

Prompt, friendly service. Good location. Called several times for cabs and they were there within 10 minutes each time. Room was nice, although the door that access' the fridge broke off. It wouldve been nice to have rooms with a jacuzzi.

Not your typical Holiday Inn!! ++++

Got there about 1.5 hours early and it was clearly busy as there was a convention in town. No rooms were available yet and was told to come back in an hour. No prob, there was a great place around the corner, California Tortilla, to grab a bite. Came back to a busy line and was checked in early. Manager on duty made sure to keep customers in line cool by passing out complimentary water bottles and smoothies. Our room was in the West Tower and the elevators were extremely slow. The hallway to get to the tower was not A/C and the 110+ degree weather did not help. We walked up 4 flights after waiting for 10 minutes. Room 436 was located next to ice machine, but never had any problems with noise. Room was modernly decorated and much nicer than typical Holiday Inns. Our queen felt more like a king. Included flat screen, mini fridge, and microwave. Neighborhood is not shady like other reviewers suggested. Like all cities, you will run into homeless/panhandlers, but no one was intrusive. Close to inner harbor (5-10 minute walk) and left car in lot next door. Definitely a good hotel for the price. Only complaint is the bathroom. TINY!! The door almost touched the toilet. Did not use pool or any dining facilities in hotel.

Good......Good....then.......Bad

This hotel is close to all. Food was very, very good at the Eden West (inside the Holiday Inn). Kids eat free (that's even better). The hotel is good, and serves its purpose. Its a place to wash up, and sleep. The pool is probably good in the winter (indoor pool). On day 3, we were informed that the water will be out from 10am - 1pm. The water wasn't turned on until after 630pm. We had to go out sweaty and unshowered. There was no AC either during the water shut off. Keep in mind that I would stay here again. The water shut off was the City doing some work. No fault of the Hotel.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Big name hotels usually have very good restaurants. We ate dinner one night at the Sheraton Hotel's Oriole's bar and grill. Food was excellent, price was not too bad. Stay away from Moe's seafood. Super expensive and not very good at all. Anyone who knows seafood knows that you don't put cheese on fish. They put grated chees on everything (mussels in marinara, steamed veggies, everything).

The Charm of Charm City

This was by far the best hotel experience we have had and we have stayed in a lot of hotels! The room was spacious yet gave us a cozy "in home" feel. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The location was perfect! Close enough to walk to everything, yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist sights.
