Great Location for a Good Price

I stayed in the hotel for a recent conference, growing up in Texas and now living in Mississippi I was hesitant about going to Baltimore. The hotel reccomended by the conference was across the street and $75 more a night, so I opted to go with this hotel. I had a beautiful corner room with a great view of Camden yards as they were preparing for Opening Day, and a warm seat at Pickles Pub next door to the hotel in the evenings were the food was great and cheap. And, if you would like a drink the selection is good. There are plenty of other restaraunts in the area (walking distance) if you wish to venture out. And, there is plenty of opportunity for public transportation including taxi's waiting in the mornings, bus stops near by, and a light rail station less than a block away that drops you off at the airport. Overall, great experience and will likely stay there in the future when I go to Baltimore again to catch an Orioles game.

Hampton Inn Baltimore Downtown Convention Center

This is not a luxury hotel but it is very clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. Location is immediately across the street from Camden Yards baseball field adjacent to Brooks Robinson plaza, 2 block walk to Convention Center, a few blocks more to Inner Harbor, all through safe areas. U. of MD medical center and Baltimore campus is a few blocks north. The 2-queen bed room was pleasant and comfortable, bathroom was modern and there was a closet located behind a full size mirror. HVAC was fully controllable and pretty quiet. I heard no hallway noise or noise from other rooms. Street noise (I was on 2nd floor) was quite limited; windows do not open and seem to seal out sound pretty well. Breakfast options included scrambled egg or omelet, sausage or bacon and baked goods, cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice and fresh fruit. There is a small fitness room with treadmills and an exercise bike. The indoor pool is small but may be fun for kids. All in all a very pleasant experience, well situated and in a safe area for moderate cost. Parking is valet-only, $29 daily, no on-street parking nearby.

Business Trip

It was a nice room, comfortable bed. I had a terrible view of the back alley of the pubs next door and was woken up by the noise of the dumpsters being emptied, but otherwise a fine visit. It fit my needs for a few nights while I was in town on business.
