Quaint historical site

If you are a history buff, this is the place for you. Right smack in the middle of historical Fells Point of Baltimore Harbor, the inn is surrounded by other beautiful old buildings. Cobbled-stone streets add to the ambience. The inn's decor is period appropriate. One could almost imagine Admiral Fell walking down the corridors. Every room is named for a historical figure. I stayed in the Fell room which had everything I needed. But sleep did elude me till the wee hours--the historical bars around the inn had an active tourist crowd out to party the nights away.

Charming Inn in fun neighborhood with outstanding service

We were in Baltimore for a family event and only stayed here one night, but we would have loved to have stayed longer. Fells Point has interesting shops, lots of restaurants and clubs, and a great weekend street scene. There are plenty of public transportation options, from water taxis ($12 per day for unlimited rides) to free circulator buses within a few blocks of the inn. The Inn also has a free shuttle which circulates between their 2 sister hotels in other harbor area neighborhoods and will take you along if you need to go somewhere nearby. Our room was small, but charmingly furnished and even had a jacuzzi. There was a free wine and cheese reception Saturday night which gave us a chance to socialize with other hotel guests. The best part about the Inn was the friendly, helpful staff. Every one of them went out of their way to be helpful. We had a late flight out on Sunday, so we left luggage there after we had checked out so that we could explore Baltimore unencumbered. When we were leaving the bags, we mentioned that we'd be going to the light rail station to catch a train to the airport. They offered their shuttle to take us there, and made sure it was there waiting for us before we needed to go. At this point we hadn't actually been guests at the hotel for almost 10 hours!

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The American Visionary Art Museum is really wonderful. You can reach it using the free circulator buses. Although you have to transfer twice and walk a few blocks on either end, the whole trip takes less than a half hour. By car it would be less time, and by water taxi it would be more fun! I recommend public transportation because you get to be around people who live in Baltimore, and also because you'll need to walk off the crab cakes, gelato, etc.

Great if you want to stay in the heart of fells!

One of the few hotels in Fells Point, so it was the perfect location for us. We were a bachelorette party doing the Urban Pirates cruise, so it really fit our needs. The rooms were a little small, but it had huge windows which made up for it. The staff was very accommodating and even helped us carry our luggage up and down the front steps to the building. Our room was positioned right across from the bars, so it was loud in our room until 3 am when everything shut down, but overall worked well for our needs!

Reliable, great location

Have stayed at the Admiral Fells a number of times the past year. It is a comfortable stay, rather uneventful. Location is great considering the many good restaurants and nightlife in Fells Point. Rooms are a little dated, could use a facelift.

Friendly Staff

We stayed one night on 11/11/11. Convenient, busy location but with that you get the noise from the streets late at night ranging from people yelling to horns blowing. The shuttle service was an added bonus.

Old reliable

Have stayed at the Admiral Fell several times this past year. It is located in a convenient location for us to visit with family. Rooms are clean, service ok. Made the mistake of not asking for an inside room. Our room was overlooking Thames street which is known for great bars and pubs. When bars close at 2AM, be prepared to wake from a restful sleep. I'll know better the next time.
