Boston
I was given keys to a room that was already occupied. Once they switched us to a new room, we quickly realized that they have wired the lights in such a way so that you can only get the bathroom light on while also having a very birght light in the bedroom area turned on. This is horrible when you are trying to sleep. To top off a horrible experience, our room was across from a corporate entrance on the fourth floor. So Monday morning was filled with that door slamming shut every couple of minutes. I would never stay at this hotel again.

not worth it
Don't be fooled, this hotel is not worth the price! And if you drive there add an extra $ 46 a night for parking. Room is small with no extra space. No solid wall between beds and bathroom - just a semi transparent curtain (very weird). One master light switch controls bathroom lights and lights above bed so both must be on at the same time. bad bathroom lighting and the setup makes the mirror almost useless. bad sound proofing - can hear street noise even on 15 th floor. Lounge is okay but bartenders are jerks. Only good thing: receptionists were friendly and helpful.

bad stay
good location if you are going to theatre. very trendy hotel. nice staff but.....long wait line @ check in, our room keys didnt work (twice) and they double booked our room and actually let other guests into room (sketchy!) would not go back due to these hiccups and high price of hotel. try the onyx hotel if you like hip, trendy scene. for a classic stay go with the omni parker house - my favorite boston hotel.

good hotel, but some staff members need to do their homework
The hotel is good I recommed it. There is just one bothering thing... Late at night you will be automatically asked for Id, your hotel card... even to get in your room... it is inconfortable to feel that you have to prove them that YES you are indeed a guest!!! Staff clearly lacks experience

This hotel was nothing special but there was nothing to really complain about. The hotel staff was very dry and they offered no recommendations but the valets did provide great suggestions.

Great place to stay - great bar!!!!!!!
The "W" is brand new to Boston. It has all the amenities one would want and its location is smack dab in the middle of the Theatre District. Although I was there in late January when it was cold; you could walk anywhere from this location.

Sightseeing tip:

If you ever visit Boston and it is your first time, I would highly recommend you hire a driver the first day to see all the sights and get a "historical" update to bring you up to speed about this history-laden city. Ask for any concierge and tell them to get you [...]. He is a driver and a historian. He is highly recommended.

Bean Town = Fun Town
I have been to Boston 2 times and both times loved it. The second time I stayed at W Boston Hotel. My first advice, stay at the W! Location/service all AMAZING! First thing you should do (whether you stay at the W or not), go to the lobby bar at the W for a drink. Get there early and talk to the bartenders. (Joe rocked). They will help you plan your trip. Everything from food, drinks, fun! These guys know their stuff. Second thing to do: go to DRINK. Not going to get into details about it, just go for a drink there. The food in Boston is nothing to write home about, but then again they are know for their sea food and I ate everything but sea food, except mussels in North End which were amazing. So I guess eat sea food. I love Boston and the second trip wont be my last! Enjoy!

Entertainment tip:

Talk to the bartenders while having a drink early in the day. Later at night it will get busy and they wont be able to give you their full attention. So make sure you go for an afternoon drink. Tell them what you like, ask what is going on that they think will be fun. (I am in my mid 20s, so dining/drinking/hanging out are the things I was focused on and my review reflects)

Overall great stay at W
Overall, our stay at the W in Boston was very enjoyable. From the cool contemporary lobby to the impeccably decorated rooms, the W exudes class. There was a nice flat screen TV w/ DVD player, large comfortable bed, and a soothing rain shower head in the walk-in shower. The location was very convenient - within a block of the Boylston T stop on the Green Line and within a few blocks from the Park Street T stop on the Red Line. The check-in staff was very nice; [...].There were however several negatives about our experience. We didn't get to use the Acura Whenever Wherever service because they failed to tell us that it isn't available on weekends. The service staff failed to replenish washcloths and certain toiletry items that were obviously running low (lotion, shampoo, etc). The Market restaurant is woefully unprepared for entertaining parties with small children and claimed they had "1 high chair in the hotel" but then couldn't find that 1 high chair. The fitness center ran out of water while we were working out. However, the staff did eventually bring in little bottled waters to make up for it.
