Great stay
After reading some reviews on this hotel I was a little skeptical, but new it had been undergoing renovations. The locations was perfect, Walking distance to the freedom trail, restaurants, and shops. Our room was comfortable, clean, and the bed was great. The staff couldn't have been more courteous. The renovation was just being completed with the bar opening the day we arrived. Just a wonderful experience.

Surprising little hotel
Despite being under renovations and clearly a little stressed, the staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel was walking distance from all the sights I wanted to see in Boston and, as a single woman traveling alone, I felt safe walking in the neighborhood around the hotel.

Disappointed
I was very disappointed with my experience at this hotel...I had booked this at least 6 months in advance and had no idea that the hotel would be under construction. The bar downstairs was closed which my girlfriends and I were very excited to experience along with the fact that the main lobby was ripped apart and there were construction people everywhere which made it very hard to check in and get to your room. Not to mention the fact that they charged me for parking...we had two cars and I was unde the impression that parking was free but they charged me 45.00 for each car. I am very disappointed and feel that I should be refunded for the fact that nothing was told to me and they should have closed while they were doing the main lobby!!!!!!!

Extreme Renovations
We happened to visit during a time of extreme renovations. The main lobby was curtained off, and the temporary lobby left a lot to be desired. But how else would one expect renovations to be done while still open? Other than that, the accommodations were delightful. If you are staying during a time of renovating, I would ask for a discount.

Annoyingly quirky
The room was nice and very clean but so small that you can't move around without bumping into furniture. Our TV and phone didn't work, and half the time when you tried to call the front desk, nobody answered. That said, the staff was extremely friendly. I'd avoid this place until they finish renovating though. Would be fine for one person who doesn't plan to spend much if any time in the room.

All Things Considered
They are in the midst of a huge renovation. Fortunately, we were placed in nice room. Newly renovated, expect the furnishings. Curtains were made out of paper. No room darkening. One elevator was inconvenient with all construction materials moving up and down same space. No luxuries, no common areas. Restuarant was also closed. Cant beat the location when wanting to be near train and downtown.

friends weekend
Had a great weekend at the hotel. The rooms are fairly small, but most of the reviews state this as well, so you really shouldn't expect a huge room when you book it. The rooms were clean and updated. The hotel is in the middle of construction and entire floors were closed. It was loud at times (not at night, however), but its nice to see they are updating the hotel. In terms of location, its very close to north station, TD bank north, and many bars and restaurants in the area. Also within walking distance to faneuil hall and the north end. they even gave us free parking for our rooms. Overall, it was a great stay.

nice stay in boston
the hotel was nice... room a bit small, but the bed was comfy and room was clean. first time in Boston and was was not happy to pay $30 a night for parking. receptionist told us of nearby parking garage, and we asked if there was anything cheaper, but she said no. As we walked back from parking garage, we saw a place $10 cheaper right next to the hotel.
