Good location

Ask for a king bed room while booking, bathroom is too small but ok to use. We stayed in 10th floor and it was not that noisy as we thought. Walking distance to downtown crossing and Backbay station. Arlington station is just steps away.

Great location

Very clean hotel in the center of it all. It's old in a historical sense, which is nice but it does lack some of the amenities that newer hotels have, like a big bath tub and speedier elevators. Check-in was fast and I was able to get in early. I got the room for an unbelievable rate and it was well worth the money.

Will certainly stay again

I'll premise this by giving you some context. We had a party of 8 males between the ages of 21-28 who were in Boston to have a good time, thus we are very easy going about things and little would bother us. That being said we are all in the service industry and know what to expect about hotel stays/service. I had read some reviews recently stating the hotel was going under renovation and there was trouble with the noise, just wanted to say first of all I had no problem with this whatsoever. Upon check-in the registration professionals were very friendly and accommodating. We had two rooms we booked separate and were hoping they could get us close together. Unfortunately they could not, and he instead upgraded our double room to a Jr. King Suite on the 15th floor with lounge access and free continental breakfast right on our floor. Very well done sir. The Hotel itself is very snazzy looking, and yet very affordable. No complaints about the appearance whatsoever. The deluxe double was huge and very comfortable, no cramping whatsoever. The Jr. King Suite was amazing. We felt like a senator or high ranking official staying in it. Small living area with flatscreen tv, sofe/bed combo, and we had enough room to get a roll away bed in there as well. Long hallway with plenty of closet space. Huge bathroom with phone by the toilet, big mirrors, all toiletries included, and an amazing shower with no shortage of hot water at various times of the day and dual showerheads....awesome. The king bed was ginormous and it had great views and another flatscreen tv. Only complaint about our room anyways was the temperature control. I tried to get the coldest setting but It was not all that cool. It is an older hotel, which has its own charm, but also it was not by any means unbearable temperature wise in the room. The cash bar lounge on our floor (15) was open 5-7 and we had a nice, yet pricey, cocktail before hitting the town. We also went to the bar at the lower floor and had a nice IPA before hitting the streets officially. Late night we got back, pretty intoxicated, yet fully functional and needed to eat. The late night attendant gave us a menu for a place called Chicago pizza. The food is terrible, even for someone who has been drinking and thinks they are starving. Even worse than your corporate chain little ceasers or pizza hut. Just find another option beforehand and do your research. The continental breakfast on the 15th floor lounge was your basic setup, not out of this world, not terrible, pretty generic. Muffins/pastrys/cereal/fruits..it was a nice option to have as a pre-breakfast before eating 7 lobster rolls throughout the day. Valet parking attendants are very helpful, but bear in mind the garage is across the street and around the block so it takes a bit to retrieve your vehicle. You can call down ahead though to have it waiting. Overall, great hotel, would definitely stay again while in the Boston area.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Very close to Boylston street which not only has a few tourist destinations along the way such as Boston Commons, Prudential tower, Trinity Church, but has plenty of awesome bars and restaurants including Atlantic Fish Company which had some of the best seafood I had ever had, and I eat a good deal and would never set foot in red lobster.

Perfect spot in Boston

We would stay at the Park Plaza every time we go to Boston. It's in a great location: we walked to the North End, Chinatown and Fenway easily. The room was great. Yes, it's a bit old-fashioned, but it has all of the amenities and everything was very comfortable. For the price, there isn't a better place in the city!

Good, but a few inconveniences

Stayed here for a couple of days to visit Boston. Great location, and convenient to shops, restaurants, and transportation. The room however, compared to other hotels at the same prices was probably only ok at best. The room is somewhat small, but ok. The thermostat did not work. The A/C was either on at 69 degrees or you could turn it off. 69 was ok when coming into the room from being out in the heat, but at night we turned it off so we would not freeze. Only four of the six elevators appeared to be working, so when the Friday evening check-in rush came, There was about a 10 minute wait in line just to catch an elevator back up to our room. There is no free Wi-Fi in the rooms either. You must go to the lobby to use it, then you can only use it for 30 minutes.

One big problem….

We arrived very late at night & were sent to a room so small we couldn't walk past each other! And it only had a double bed (we had queen on our reservation) & one bedside table. We had to complain VERY LOUDLY but did get upgraded and from there on out we had a wonderful experience. It is the BEST location to be in Boston, for sure!

Boston Park Plaza

Was a pretty good location, a 5 min walk from Newbury St. and Boylston St. Was pretty small, but that did not really matter because we were just there to sleep at night. Only really bad thing was finding a cockroach on the bathroom. However, I would still stay there again.
