Great Location!
If you are looking to stay in Boston, newberry st is an ideal location. It has many unique bars and restaurants within walking distance. The one downside was that it was very expensive for the one night stay, we payed $180 plus $20 for parking. The Back Bay Area is notably expensive, but the location is great. I would look at the Park Plaza hotel first if I were you. Beautiful hotel and better value for your money.

Spring Field Trip
The location is pretty nice and the room is neat. The prudential shopping center is just across the street so no worries about the location. The staff at the front desk is pretty nice and we had a really good time talking about the st.Patrick Day parade.

Great Boston Location
I enjoyed this hotel very much. Located on Newbury St and surrounded by very fine restaurants and shops this well kept, quiet, comfortable guest house serves as a great base for enjoying Boston. Breakfasts were substantial, parking is available and less expensive than public lots. My room faced the street but was very quiet.

Two outstanding restaurants: A fine French restaurant, Voile, is next door, and Tapeo, an upbeat Tapas restaurant across the street.

You can't beat the location or price.
The last time I stayed in Boston I was starving my way through college, starting out as an 18 year old attending Berklee College of Music and ending up graduating from Harvard. On a whim, and suffering from severe cabin fever in New York City, I suddenly said to my wife a few days before, "Let's go to Boston"--only I said it in Japanese because she's from Tokyo. In the United States, my wife has only really seen New York City so far, which isn't the least bit representative of the United States, so I wanted her to see a bit of the real America. I chose the Newbury Guest House primarily because of its location, right in my old neighborhood, on my favorite street. Of course the price helped as well. If I wanted to stay in that area otherwise, I would be looking at one of the luxury hotels around Copley Square--which the Newbury Guest House is nearby as well. Although the Newbury is thin on features, it is clean and friendly. The building says bed and breakfast, but our room reminded more of a Holiday Inn. It was not decorated at all. But in my opinion you can't beat the location. If you're visiting Boston for the first time, Newbury Street is the best home base. Good shopping, wonderful restaurants, and a relaxed atmosphere. Off of Newbury Street in one direction you can head to Cambridge to check out MIT and Harvard campuses; in another direction you can walk, eat, shop your way all the way down to Boston Commons; and if you're there to see a baseball game this hotel is not horribly far away from Fenway Park if your up for a hike and know how to get there. Bottom Line from someone who lived in Boston a long time, you can't beat the location, and for the location you can't beat the price.

A Gem in Boston
Newbury Guest House was a great traveling experience for me. The coziness, historic integrity and cordial touches (hot coffee, tea, etc.) were truly appreciated. The staff was wonderful and welcoming, as well as helpful. A feeling of serenity amidst the pulse of the hippest part of Boston. Did I mention, the price is a real deal. I plan on many, happy returns.

Newbury Guest House
The outside is very inviting. Dragging suitcase up steps was a pain, and there was no offer of help from staff inside hotel to assist. The room was clean, small and reasonable for location. Floors creak, but room was clean. Breakfast was disappointing and environment unacceptable...chairs were stacked (piled in a bunch) in room where food was served. The qualify of food was what you would get at a budget hotel. The staff were preoccupied reading their computer screens and acted offended when asked a simple question, like how to get to the subway. Would never stay there again.
