Quick weekend getaway

The hotel was clean and had everything we needed. Washer, dryer, pool, hot tub, bar and even Starbucks coffee for the morning. The shuttle is great no need for a rental car. The beds were very comfortable. Would stay there again next time we visit. Kids love the hot cookies upon arrival!

Graduation

This hotel was fine for the graduation due to its location, but the room rate was more than twice as high as it is normally. Our room was clean, but repairs needed to be done on loose tile, the toilet paper dispenser, and peeling wallpaper.

Amazing gateway!!!

I just came back from an awesome weekend in Boston. This was our first time in the area and in the Double Tree Suites as well. We arrived after 9 pm and were greeted with warm chocolate chip cookies. I have asked if they could upgrade us to another room (I initially booked 2 full beds with a sofa bed in the living room) and was offered a two level suite on the top floor (16). I only added $75 per night, which is not bad at all. The room was great!!! Super clean, 2 flat screen tvs AND a tv in the mirror in the main bedroom bathroom!! That is pretty cool, I have to say. The staff over all is very nice, no complaints. We used the pool every evening after touring. Pool was a bit on the cold side, the jacuzzi was great though. The best service we had was the free shuttle. It runs every hour and we did not need to worry aboutovinv our car from the garage at all. The hotel is a bit further from all the touristy places but the shuttle makes up for it! I did not try their breakfast or the restaurants so I can't comment on that. Overall I would go back to this hotel if I end up in Boston again!!

Little Get Away

Needed to visit family for a quick weekend and this is the place to travel with a toddler. The facilities are pretty clean and the hotel is very busy because of its weekend events. Parking on the weekend was a little hectic and the narrowness of the parking facility should be addressed but nothing that a little patience and waiting for opposite traffic to move can't remedy. My only disappointment was that free WIFI wasn't included in the room but most hotels don't in the area. its just annoying especially when you have multiple devices having to pay several different charges for WIFI. Room service was quick and offered generous portions. Front Desk was super helpful.

great staff. horrible location no ammenities

Thought this would be a great getaway. Have attended events at the hotel before but never stayed there. The room was okay but Nothing was included. No internet. I even had to pay for parking. I guess you could say the only free thing there was the cookie they give to you when you check in. Also the tv had like 10 channels on it wich stunk late at night when i woke up freezing turned the heat up and felt nothing. Also i was looking forward to the beautiful bathroom and pool as shown in the photos. I did not get the nice bathroom and the pool was closed for maintenence during my stay. Im dissatisfied with the hotel overall it looks nice in photos but getting there was painful. The entrance is not clearly marked and if I hadnt been there before I would have missed it. Also I paid for a room that in the description of that room said it would be located on a high floor. I was on the fourth floor. It was not high and the view was not that great. Overall I would not reccomend this hotel. I was dissatisfied and it left much to be desired.

Last minute weekend

made our reservation two days prior and received great room with early check in at 11am. Hotel really busy but staff cordial, warm cookie upon arrival, room very quiet, beds firm, great towels, two TVs and spectacular view of the Charles River. Didn't eat at the lounge or cafe- too much to experience within walking distance. Free shuttle to downtown. Only improvement needed is an airport shuttle.

Great Hotel

I really like this hotel, our room was really clean and comfortable with a great view of the river and the city. It was a little out of the way but it was just a 15 minute cab ride away from most places which isn't too bad. Fresh baked cookies were delicious. The food that we had for lunch was ok. Would definitly return to this hotel in the future.

Love the Doubletree!!!

I love this hotel! It has been our favorite while visiting our son at Harvard. Great location....the view of the Charles River is perfect and walking along the Charles on the way to Harvard Square is gorgeous....even in the misty rain like this weekend! Most comfortable bed ever!!!!! Got a GREAT night's sleep! Cheryl at the front desk is one friendly, sweet lady. Very satisfied! Did not need a car to get around Boston. The T is fun!

Sports trip

hotel is a little outside the city and does not provide airport shuttle service but does provide shuttle service to common tourist points of interest near all subway stations. The staff was very helpful and overall it was a very enjoyable stay.

Started off great, but fell short

I was really hopeful when I booked with DoubleTree Guest Suites, and while the stay was good overall, I was disappointed with some aspects of the hotel. Upon arrival the staff at the front desk was very friendly, and the cookie and free breakfast coupons were an excellent touch! Our room was big and seemingly clean, and the balcony view was spectacular. The first major drawback was the cost of parking. We needed a rental car for this trip and the cost of parking for two days at the hotel was more than the price of the rental car. Ridiculous! The complimentary shuttle to downtown Boston was extremely convenient, BUT there were no instructions on how to get picked up to come back. Apparently you need to call and make reservations to be picked up in Boston and this was never made clear. Then, when I DID make a reservation, the shuttle did not show up. After waiting 40 minutes at the designated spot, I called the hotel and was put on hold for 10 minutes while they tried to contact the shuttle driver. After ten minutes on hold I simply hung up and took a cab. Frustrating. When I used one of the towels provided in the bathroom on the shelves, I was extremely startled to find a huge bug or growth of some kind on one of the towels that was hidden by the way the towel was folded. Disgusting. I had to stay in the hotel for most of the day on Saturday in order to do some work. The amount I paid for internet access was ridiculous but I knew that was going to happen. I kept the "Later Please" sign on the door so house keeping could return later, and when I got a call asking if I wanted cleaning services, I asked for them to come back at 5pm. When I came back to the room later that night, housekeeping had not come. The restaurants in the hotel were good and served delicious food from the 3 meals I had there (2 free breakfasts and 1 lunch). However, during lunch I was one of the only customers there, and I only ordered one item, and the server gave me the wrong check. Only a minor issue of course and easily remedied, but during relatively short stay, minor problems like these definitely add up. Finally, there was a general lack of direction as to what to do when we checked out. We left the keys in the hotel room when we checked out as it said to do on the express check out sheet, but because we paid for two days of parking we needed them to get out of the garage. A little instruction would have been appreciated.
