A very nice place to stay

My son and I stayed here for one night because he had a conference to attend at the nearby convention center. The room was very clean and comfortable. 2 double beds, nice tv, fridge. No wifi in the rooms but they do have computers and printers you can use in the lobby. Staff was very friendly and helpful, everyone from the front desk, housekeeping and cafe staff. They give you delicious warm chocolate chip cookies when you arrive. The nice chef in the cafe gave me an extra one for free for my son (I had ordered only one with my soup and sandwich). The New England clam chowder and turkey sandwich were well-made and delicious. Parking is 10 dollars a day, A but they let me continue to park my car in the lot for no extra charge even though I had checked out at 10 a.m. (the conference went until 6). It is also very close to the subway, just a couple minutes walk.

DOUBLETREE BAYSIDE/BOSTON, MA

THE ROON WAS VERY, VERY CLEAN. I HAD TWO NIGHTS OF SOME OF THE BEST SLEEP I HAVE EVER HAD IN A HOTEL. THE BEDS ARE SO COMFORTABLE. VERY SHORT WALK FROM THE MBTA STATION (JFK/UMASS). VERY PROFESSIONAL STAFF. THIS WAS MY FIRST (BUT NOT LAST) TIME IN BOSTON, MA. THE DOUBLETREE BAYSIDE IS THE ONLY PLACE I WILL STAY WHILE IN BEANTOWN. CHECK IT OUT FOR YOURSELF; YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. TIP: FOR THE BEST WAY TO GET AROUND BOSTON, USE MBTA SUBWAY. MOST MAJOR ATTRACTIONS ARE IN EAST WALKING DISTANCE FROM STOPS. AGAIN, THIS HOTEL IS LOCATED CLOSE TO THE JFK/UMASS STOP. BG2-DEUCE; GASTONIA, NORTH CAROLINA

THERE IS A RESTAURANT IN THE HOTEL. THERE ARE NO FAST FOOD PLACES NEAR BY. THERE IS, HOWEVER, A SHAWS SUPERMARKET NEAR THE MBTA JFK/UMASS STOP.

very serviceable, great staff!

The rooms are comfortable though a bit run-down (well used!). The lobby looks great though lounge and in-hotel dining are very limited. The location is good for UMass Boston and UMass/JFK red line T location but there's nothing else around within walking distance anyway. Very good value if you don't mind jumping on the T to go out to dine or to see the sights.

okay place

I liked that it was close to subway (3 minute walk) and they had shuttle bus service every hour. But It was very disappointing that we had to pay $13 per day for internet for each computer. But the room was nice enough and they had nice shampoo/lotion from crabtree&evelyn.

Quick Getaway

I made last minute plans to travel and received a great value! I mistakenly chose the wrong bed size for my room when booking online, but the front desk graciously changed my room for me with no hassle. I will definitely plan to stay here on future trips!

Something that gets missed all the time.

The alarm clock will be set by a previous guest usually for a time in the middle of the night. It goes off and startles you awake. By the time you figure out the problem you are wide awake and lose valuable sleep. The cleaning staff should be instructed in how to disarm this clock alarm and make it part of the checklist for each room each day.
