Not the best, not the worst
I just feel as if I didn't get a good idea of what the hotel was like from the website. It's in an older building, which I believe is usual for some other hotels I've stayed in near the area. It actually felt more like a motel than a hotel. Despite this, the staff were all very friendly, and the location was great. It was right near Copley Square and very accessible to the subway, so I wouldn't mind recommending it, just realize what you're signing up for.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Boston is very well connected via the "T", so a short walk to the Back Bay station will get you almost anywhere you have to go for $5, which includes one transfer. As long as you have a little patience and know where you're going (or can read a map or have the iPhone/Android app), the public transportation is unbeatable.

Great location, clean, but not much else
The hotel was located in a great area of Boston and although it was old, they kept it up nicely. The room was really tiny and not very comfortable. All in all pretty good for Boston I guess, but still felt pricey for what I got. To be fair I was there at a really bad time (right after the marathon bombing), but the hotel did nothing to accomodate us or recognize the difficulty. We were order to stay in place the day I was supposed to check out and when I asked if I could stay in my room since the city was shut down the staff said I could pay for an extra night or wait in the lobby.

You get what you pay for
Considering the central location, it was a good value. Accommodations were small and basic, but sufficient. WiFi is available only in common areas.

Decent stay, but there are a few issues
The hotel seemed a bit old, as though it was once a really great place to stay but is currently a bit over the hill. For the price, I would say it's worth it. The room was small, but comfortable. The television was small, but we didn't visit Boston to watch TV anyway. There were daily continental breakfast that you would expect - cereal, bagels, etc. But I did have a few issues with the hotel. First, my room had a bed that sunk in in the middle and creaked as though it might give out at any time. Second, there was no wifi in the room - wifi only works in a first floor computer room. My biggest complaint was the bathroom - the drain in the tub had rust all around it and it took about ten minutes for the tub to fully drain after taking a shower. It also wasn't a well ventilated room. After showering, we'd leave the bathroom door open and go out and we'd come back to the room being humid. Overall, it was a decent stay with a few hiccups. The hotel is in a great location, just a block away from the Orange T line and three or four blocks away from Copley Square and the Green line. The location was great and I think that, combined with a comfy but not especially opulent room makes it worth the stay. Especially when compared to other pricey hotels in the same area.

Wouldn't recommend ordering food in the area. Everything was overpriced and the delivery fees were very high. Go out instead and save yourself some cash.

To be rightfully razed
Dirty, old carpet; mold in shower, curtain, & tub surround; no restaurant or room service; one entrance/1 exit; 3 or 4 steps up to manual doors from street (taxi drivers do not know where it is); 8-10 steps up to lobby from entrance - try that with two rolling suitcases in the howling wind and rain.

very nice, quaint hotel
my boyfriend and i were going to our first nba game (celtics vs sixers). i chose this hotel because of it's location. the backbay T station (orange line) was right around the corner and took us directly to td garden. this hotel was right off the mass turnpike. you literally run right into it! there's no grand entrance, in fact if you're not paying attention, you can miss the door. it kinda looks like an alley way. we parked in the huge garage where they validated our parking..i think the garage was $33/day, but the stamp from the hotel made it $27/day. the inside was nice. the staff was very friendly and helpful. there's a business center right on by the entrance. breakfast was minimal, but a dunkin donuts was on the same street. the rooms were seemingly clean. the whole place had a antiquated feel to it. very old fashioned look. like a historic landmark! i even liked the fuzzy rug on the bathroom floor, which gave it a homey feel. when we left they offered to hold our bags for us for teh day while we set out on foot to see the town. very nice.

like i said in my review, the hotel is right by the orange line. you can connect to all the T lines and save a lot of money by just parking your car and keeping it parked!

Business Stay
The hotel is quant and simple, my stay was business related so I did not take advantage of any touristy features. Parking in Boston in general is very expensive and this hotel does not have parking accommodations associated with it. They have an agreement with a parking facility across the street which via a voucher, use the voucher/discount it will save considerable money.
