Good place
Location for us was key, as was price. This place is quite near the Superdome, though our primary interest was the French Quarter, to which we walked to and from each day of our four-day trip there in mid April, 2013. It's probably a 6 or 8 block walk to the FQ from the hotel, and only about 5 or 6 to Canal street, so it was perfectly close for us. The price we got with this hotel was for a flight / hotel combo and was great! Room was nothing special, but more than good enough for us for this stay. Small, slow internet, basic cable, clean, quiet, etc. It was all we needed. I'd definitely stay here again.

There are MANY great places to eat in NOLA! Many of them are hole-in-the-wall type places, but don't be afraid to stick your nose in there and give some a try.

Strange Parking Fee and Policy
I was not aware of a daily parking fee but understand, What I find strange is, at the time of check in, I was instructed there is a $20 per day and only accept cash. I asked for a receipt and was instructed it will be on the bill at checkout. The following morning I was overheard they tow cars at noon. I went to the front desk to ask, how do they know which cars to tow? Replied, they have mirror hangers. I didn't receive one, she gave me one. When I checked out at 4:00AM, the night clerk was unable to print a receipt with my parking on it. He also stated, he doesn't even know if I paid. Very shady, would like to have my receipt for my payment. Other than the parking issue, I would recommend this property.

adequate for conference travel
I stayed at this hotel while attending a conference. Although a bit further from the convention center than other hotels, it was still within about 15-20 min walking distance and more reasonably priced. The hotel is within short walking distance of the French quarter and several restaurants in the area. The staff was generally friendly and helpful. The room was adequate. Continental breakfast was decent and included belgian waffles.

A very good place to stay in downtown area
This hotel has a very good location - close to French Quarter and all other important downtown places. It is clean, nice and well-maintained. It is also in a good area of town. The only disadvantage is that they have smoking and non-smoking rooms but even in a non-smoking suit it is possible to smell smoke.

Very bad experience
It was a horrible experience. I was going there as an anniversary surprise trip with my fiance. They had a small parking lot which was completely full, so MANAGEMENT made us park in a no parking zone...a tow away zone. Luckily, my fiance was watching for a spot and moved the truck when one became available. Someone else parked in our same spot not long after and ended up getting towed! They charged us a ridiculous amount to park, which was no where in the details of the hotel. When we got inside, the staff was very rude while we were checking in. I paid for a queen bed in a non smoking room...when we got to our room it was a full bed on an entire smoking floor! All they did to cover up the smoke smell in our room was spray too much air freshener. I went downstairs to question the room and was immediately told I was wrong. Her words exactly "Um boo, I don't know where you stay before, but down here those beds be the size of a queen in hotel standards." No, beds come in sizes for a reason, other wise there wouldn't be a difference between a twin and a king. I was furious. When I asked for her manager she said they were too busy to talk. I also paid more for my room online through a travel company than I would have if I would have booked straight through the hotel. When I brought this to their attention, they laughed and said that was my own problem. The rooms were dirty, the whole floor reeked of smoke, the staff was incredibly room, the area for breakfast is very small and you are not allowed to bring any food up to your room. One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I would never stay there again. Other than location, there's nothing positive about the hotel. So much for a romantic anniversary trip....
