Motel 6

If you arrive in the evening, you have to check in from outside through a glass window ( which may of been bullet proof). A gate does surround the exterior of the hotel but was never closed. A scary skeleton of a building is on site, broken windows, completely gutted building with graffitti. It felt like a frat party with so many people roaming the hall ways. The room also had a stale odor to it. Wish I spent the extra money and stayed elsewhere, it would be worth the peace of mind.

My experience with this hotel was not a positive one. It has an overwhelming carpet cleaner smell and no way to let fresh air into the room to alleviate it. I called the front desk to find out the password for the internet and when I didn't understand what the word was and repeated it back incorrectly, the clerk who had answered the phone respelled it letter by letter yelling it at me and then hung up on me. At 10:58am on the day we checked out, the maid came to the door and repeated several times that check out time was 11am and were we leaving now, it was time to go, are we staying another day, even though I had my suitcase in my hand and my purse over my shoulder and I wasn't even late to leave yet. My 16 year old son reported the same maid had glared at him several times when we had walked down the hall. Not a welcoming environment, though you do get a bar of soap in the bathroom, no extras. I would not recommend this location unless none of the above will bother you.

It was fine. A place to shower and sleep. Also very short commute to downtown.

I came in town to work and needed a place to sleep and shower and it was just that. They gave fresh towels, and linens, and made my bed. It's 4 miles from downtown so you are never on traffic long. I was comfortable and would stay again.

Neighborhood is situated in a sketchy area (I later found out that a shooting took place there in July 2012)-- I was afraid to leave my room after dark. The staff barely speaks English, and the hotel room was not equipped with shampoo (nor do they supply it at the desk), and my towels were almost all dirty (brown stains, dead bugs, and hair). The TV barely worked, and hissed whenever the channel changed. The room and bed itself was OK, but when you factor in the bad neighborhood, poor service, and terrible amenities, I highly recommend avoiding this place. They also charged me $35 more than the quoted price. AVOID!

This was NOT a very good neighborhood. The motel was acceptable as far as cleanliness, but lacked ANY sort of extra touch. Check in/out was easy and the staff was friendly as they took our money then nothing after that. I would NOT stay here again. Only did because I waited too late and this was the only one available. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. If you HAVE to stay here, bring extra pillows!! Those were flat and only 2! It was ok in a pinch as we were, but I'll be booking months in advance next time! Lesson learned!

The most affordable option not far from downtown, however the awful public transportation in Nola makes it a pain to either leave or go back to this hotel; you end up wasting 2 hr of your day in a roundtrip of 7k. Taxis are not expensive, but still hard to get. Food and c stores around, but you don't want to walk around after 8pm. Good option is your budget is limited -and you don't mind wasting your time in transportation.

Perfect driving distance to the parking lots in the quarter, the hotel is not the best in the world but for the money it wasnt bad.

We spent one night at the motel and we felt safe ,it was convenent and clean.

For such a low price, this hotel was great. The room was clean, and the staff was polite and efficient.
