Will never go back to this hotel!!!

I was a good location and the walk to things was short. The hotel though was horrible. The staff didn't want to change the sheets, pillow cases, or vacuum the room. I had my two year old son with me and the bathroom doors didn't have any lock on them. So i had to block the doors with suitcase so he couldn't get into the bathroom. The door out of the room was easy for him to open too. The top lock did not do much to stop him from opening the door. If he pulled on the door two or three times the top lock would come undone. The door key wouldn't work either. It was just a bad experience.

Seasick in the shower

The room looked clean enough but... -The thermostat and climate control units weren't effective. I set the thermostat for 72 degrees overnight, and I woke up freezing, just in time to hear the heater kick on, and then I was sweating profusely by the time it shut off. -The tub floor was slanted away from the wall. I never felt safe in the shower, as if I would pitch over with the slant of the tub, or it may just fall through the floor at any moment. -The shower curtain rod was not firmly affixed to the wall on either side, causing the curtain to gap away from the wall on BOTH sides, leaving standing water on the floor. -They serve breakfast each morning, but they ran out of coffee before breakfast hours were over each of the 3 mornings I was there. -The outside employees (the valet service) acted like pedestrians were an inconvenience to them. The lady who came to clean the room was the only employee I felt was happy to have me there. -In search of a bottle of water from the vending/ice area, we had to go from the 11th floor to the 5th, where we finally found water in the vending machine. +On the plus side, there were 5 pillows on the bed of varying degrees of firmness, so I was able to find one that fit my preferences.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Mulate's at 201 Julia Street, has a wonderful atmosphere, good food, and a dance floor. Take the street car. The best dining experience I had was at the French Market Cafe. Look for the On Time Band for good music and a fun band.

no bellhop service

The young Africa American female at front desk were rude and inattentive. The staff and bellhop watched as me and my two kids struggled to get our luggage out of the car and into the hotel.

No More La Quinta

Was given a smoking room when we requested a non-smoking room. We were then moved to a "Handicap" room next to a staff room where the noise was totally unacceptable. We were then finally moved to a non-smoking room....Too much hassle after a long day/flight. Also, Breakfast stopped at 9:00 a.m. and there is no other food available at the hotel. 9:00a.m. is a bit early for tired travelers who could make it by 10:00 a.m. Additionally, the view from ALL the room we were given SUCKED Big Time.

Good location

It was in a good location but I didn't have a hot shower the entire time I was there. Another plus were the nice comfortable beds and their nice pillows

not a good one

We stayed there for a week. House keeping is bad. Almost everyday, we have to call front desk to get room vacuumed or for bathroom accessories or for replacing bed sheets. A couple of days, we found dust on the bed sheets and was wondering where it came when the bed sheets are new. In the end, we almost gave up and started to count time to move out of the hotel. The front desk responded our calls immediately, but there must be something wrong with house keeping. Breakfast is fine. Location is good

Good location

My husband and I wanted to explore French Quarter, so we chose this hotel because of its location(just 5 minutes walk). Hotel was ordinary, but too expensive than that. But other hotels were more expensive, so we had no choice.

My husband and I went to the famous dining, Acme Oyster House, then Maison Bourbon Nite Club. Both were nearby Bourbon St. and very enjoyable and affordable.

its was ok

when we first arrived, they had some problems with our reservation. I thought I had booked a suite which meant a room with a living room that had a sofa bed. but instead we just got a regular room with a futon. It seemed as though someone had checked into our room already and they had to give us this other room. the room was ok and comfortable but not exactly what we paid for. but because it was mardi gras, we really didnt have much of a choice. the room wasnt really cleaned well. we found dirty socks underneath the heater and chairs. one good thing was that the location was perfect for mardi gras and french quarters. However, for this average hotel, i dont think its worth the amount we paid which was 4 nites for $1027 during mardi gras.
