pleasant stay...

The staff was friendly and helpful. I don't know if valet parking was extremely busy during our stay but parking took a while. Beds were really comfy but our room was warm for some reason.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

You can walk pretty much to the French Quarter or bourbon...the superdome is a short drive and Harrah's is literally next door.

Good Value in New Orleans

This was a good hotel for us, being close to the Mississippi waterfront in New Orleans, right on Canal Street. We were located right across the street from Harrah's Casino, across from Sak's 5th Avenue and very near the Aquarium. It was perfect for us having a wedding to attend on the Natchez steamboat. The French Quarter is nearby with about a 10-15 minute walk away. Price was very reasonable with a super comfortable room at half the price of those nearby. We were very pleased with the staff and everyone was friendly to us. :)

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Harrah's Casino is across the street, Sak's is across Canal St. Aquarium is a block away. River is a block away. Streetcar station is in front of hotel. Bourbon St. begins about 4 blocks away and runs into French Quarter.

Great Place Close to the Quarter

Comfortable, and close to the French Quarter. Easy to get to everything. Nicer than the rooms across the street at the Marriot.

20th Anniversary Celebration

Wonderful overnight stay at the Doubletree Hotel, N.O. Staff: Valet parking at arrival and timely delivery at our departure. Front desk - the young lady was very nice and wore a big smile and professional, Oh the famous chocolate chip cookies at check-in was good, nice touch; The cleaning Supervisor and Maintenance person was very nice and quick problem solvers. Hotel and Room: We reserved the Jr. Master Suite, 500sq ft, clean and impressive, perfect for the occasion. Priced good for the location. Everything was in walking distance of the hotel didn’t need the car, my wife in I hit the French Quarters River Walk, dining at Ralph and Katcoo’s for dinner, after that visit thru Bourbon St. One word “Wow” You must take the bike Cab we did from the F.Q. back to the hotel, the scenery was awesome and weather was a breezy night, good experience. We had a Moscato Wine that night beside the roof top pool to relax. Issues: About a 30 min room delay at check-in also my key card wouldn’t open the door to room, the cleaning Supv was on the floor at that time in let us in our room she had our key card reprogrammed and notice it still didn’t work and call the maintenance person who immediate replace the keypad box on door, issued resolved less then 25 mins, (didn’t want to report this in my review b/c it didn’t affect our planes but I had to be fair to readers) May explain why our room was delayed at check-in. They gave us two vouchers for free breakfast to express their apology. Thanks for being part of a wonderful experience. Oh, my wife enjoy The River Walk indoor mall

Clean room, great location

If you stay here don't pay the $40 to park a night. Go next door and park at Harrah's. If you gamble 30 minutes you get free parking for 24 hours.

dont stay here

I wish I could give it less than 1 star Bathroom toilet leaded, A/C would not work if set less then 73 Deg. Asked for a different room, after 3 hrs they decided that our room was un-usable and moved us to A Lower level floor even though we paid the extra for a upper room floor and did not offer us a discount. Location was perfect to walk any place in town

My favorite stop is the Gumbo Shop on St Peters. Found about this place during World's Fair and never miss a chance to go back. Beware of the Hot Fudge Brownie with Ice Cream...it's pure sin!!!

Masquerade Getaway

It was a quick little getaway I decided to do around the Martin L Luther King Holiday. The stay was fantastic overall. I did arrive late and was placed in a room. It was not want I requested, but Other than that, I had not complains. The location of the hotel is perfect. The trolley/street cars are available at your front door for transporting to several locations thru out this fun loving city.
