Great Location in the heart of New Orleans

The Crowne Plaza Astor Hotel is New Orleans was very spacious and comfortable. I felt very much at home there as the staff was all very helpful and kind. The beds were the most comfortable beds, I didn't want to get up. They would help you find good dining, shopping and tourist attractions. The Hotel has an excellent Steak House right there and anything else you would need. It is also within walking distance to all the sites, shopping, dining and French Quarter. It is fairly close to the River Walk and the Casino too. It had a ATM right there for easy access. I would stay at this hotel everytime I come to New Orleans in the future and I have stayed in that city at least 28-30 times.

    Super comfortable

The Crowne Plaza Astor was extremely comfortable, every kind of pillow you could wish for! It's located right on the edge of the French Quarter. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious (try their unique oyster dish - Oysters Fonseca). I will definitely stay there again given the opportunity.

    Nice Hotel

This is a really fine hotel. It is a good location to everything on Bourbon St and anything else from here to the French Market (which is undergoing remodeling) to the Aquarium, the Imax theater, the Mall and the casino. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The rooms are awesome and the clean staff very effective, but they don't speak English very well, so there is a communication problem if you need to ask them anything. I would definitely stay in this hotel again if I can get the same, great rates.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Remember that Bourbon St is a long street, with lots of city blocks, you are on one end, so it is a long walk from the hotel to the other end of Bourbon St. BUT this is a fantastic location for the French Quarter and other entertainment on Canal from here to the River.

    great for business meetings

OUR OFFICE STAYED HEREFOR A BUSINESS MEETING. WE WERE ALL VERY PLEASED WITH OUR EXPERIENCE. THE ROOMS WERE VERY COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN. I WAS ALSO VERY PLEASED WITH THE MENU CHOICE THAT WAS MADE FOR OUR LUNCH, THE FOOD WAS GREAT. THE ONLY THING THAT WAS NOT CLOSE TO PERFECT WAS THE CHECK-IN TIME WAS SLOW. THERE WAS ONLY TWO PEOPLE WORKING THE DESK, AND THIS MADE FOR A LONG LINE AT CHECK-IN AND CHECK- OUT. BUT NOT TO COMPLAN BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WERE VERY POLITE. AND THE FACT THAT THE HOTEL IS IN PRIME LOCATION WAS GREAT WE WALKED TO EVERYTHING.

    Near everything

The Crowne Plaza Hotel Astor was very comfortable. It is located walking distance to most sites including Jackson Square. You have to valet park on check-in, so that was somewhat of a hassle. The staff was promp and courteous. I wouild recommend this hotel to anyone.

    most honest hotel staff

I left a t-mobile brand new PDA internet ready phone worth ?350 in the room and didn't find out until I was in Britain nearly three weeks later. When I called the hotel they had the phone in their safe. The housemen had handed it in after finding it in the room. The staff were lovely. I wasn't pleased with the price of a cup of coffee in the lobby or the price of local calls $1.50. But everything else was top notch. The furniture wasn't shabby, sheets sparkling white and crisp, bathroom a dream. Yes I would definatly recommend staying here, right in the heart of New Orleans French Quarter.

Take a trip on the local trolley cars. It's cheap and you get to see lots. When you've had enough, hop off and get one back the other way to the French Quarter.

    Great location, Bourbon and Canal

The Crowne Plaza was a nice hotel, right there on Canal at the corner of Bourbon, so everything was very convenient. The hotel was undergoing some renovations, but we did not experience anything negative because of it. The CP properties are the ones where being a Priority Club member really helps. We had access to the lounge with free made to order breakfast, as well as cocktails during happy hour!
