Ok for Price
We stayed for four nights. Hotel and staff were decent. When we checked in they did not give me my credit card back. The next day while we were out I realized it and called the hotel and they said they had it and left me a message, although there was no message in my room. When we finally got back to the hotel I was patiently waiting for the desk clerk to finish checking in the person in front of me so I could get my card backā¦.. Just thought it was interesting that they also "forgot" to give the credit card back to the person in front of me as well. I am not sure if this was just two mistakes that I witnesses, or they are up to something⦠Bed was amazingly comfortable. Housekeeping was quick to bring towels since we were three people, but only stocked for two people. Hotel itself was nothing special, but a value. We always had a clean room, bed, clean bathroom, and kitchenette. It was nice to have a mini fridge to put some water in. Bourbon St. was a quick 10 minute walk, which was not bad at all. I would not say I felt unsafe, but you definitely want to be aware of your surroundings on your walk on Canal St. The hotel is right outside the touristy area. The concierge woman was completely rude when I told her we booked our tours elsewhere.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
It was a short walk to Bourbon St, although we felt that the two blocks around the hotel were definitely out of the tourist zone. Traveling with three women we never felt unsafe, but you definitely wanted to be aware of your surroundings on the walk home.

Good value
Location is on a somewhat bleak end of the business district but the trolly stop is right across the street. Room was comfortable and newly redecorated. The complementary breakfast was disappointing because there was no protein. Only cereal, breads, donuts. No yogurt, eggs, peanut butter. Good value for the price.

The not so great
We arrived at the hotel and sadly they were way understaffed. There was only one guy working the counter and tons of people trying to get his attention. Anyway he gets me my room key and we go to our room and it is not the room I booked. I asked for 2 double beds and I had a queen suite instead. It was pretty irritating that they overbooked themselves and couldn't meet my expectations. The valet guys helped get our bags onto our cart but we had to take it to the room. The ATM and the snack machines didn't work. The two elevators they had were so small and you had to wait forever to use one and people constantly running the halls and being overly loud. I mean I get that it's new Orleans and it is expected in some way but it was pretty over the top with no o e saying anything to them about it.

ok time
We had 2 rooms and the room I got from [...] was actually more expensive than the room directly through the hotel. One of the rooms did not have toilet paper in the bathroom. The bathroom was really tiny and the rooms looked like it needed work. It was hot in the room and the hotel lobby.

Nothing special
Stayed the night of the NFC championship game which New Orleans won creating a city wide party. Despite being on the 15th floor, the noise from the street was still loud through the thin walls and windows. The walls between rooms were thin as well. I could hear conversations two rooms down and a couple that, lets just say, were acting like newlyweds. Rooms were fine with a few imperfections. Bathroom had a very small sink/counter area which was somewhat annoying. Breakfast was subpar, very limited in the coffee department. Overall, unless there is a special event in the city, its an average hotel worth approx. 60-70 dollars.

Cheap, not a safe location
The hotel room itself was fine but the location of the hotel was less than desirable. The surrounding area was a little rough for my liking especially when trying to walk back from bourbon st (blocks away).
