The Bourbon Orleans Hotel has many stories to tell, sitting on the site of both the grand old Orleans Theater and Ballroom, and a former convent. Restored in the 1960s in the Creole style of the French Quarter, the Bourbon's rooms are all unique. From the gilded hangings of the ballroom and meeting halls to the Provencal furnishings of the Governor's Suite, the grandeur of Old Louisiana is everywhere guests look. A complimentary welcome beverage at the Bourbon O is your initial dose of New Orleans hospitality, while resident Creole restaurant, Roux, serves up jumbo shrimp and fried green tomatoes. The saltwater pool forms a calm oasis in the courtyard, a quiet counterpoint to the Bourbon Street bustle outside the front door.

Neighborhood
Right on Bourbon Street, the Bourbon Orleans boasts quick access to the attractions of the French Quarter, as well as some of the finest music found in the "Birthplace of Jazz". Head down Orleans Street for the pedestrian-only section of Royal Street and its lively outdoor performers, or take a detour down Pirate Alley, which runs along the west side of St. Louis Cathedral and ends at Jackson Square, a U.S. National Historic Landmark. You're also never far from the banks of the Mississippi and its vintage steamboat tours.
Hints and tips
Balcony suites overlook Bourbon Street, St. Ann or Orleans Street, and the grand St. Louis Cathedral, so book here for a unique vantage point.

Those with a taste for the supernatural should keep their eyes peeled for the Bourbon's three 'resident' ghosts, including a confederate soldier patrolling the sixth and third floors and a spectral figure waltzing beneath the ballroom chandeliers.

Convenient & Comfy

I stayed for one night with my sister and it was the perfect hotel for us. We didn't wander far from the French Quarter so the location was convenient and easy to locate on Google maps. The staff was friendly and let us know when we should aim to call a cab/taxi for the airport. They also gave us complimentary drink vouchers at the bar (try the Scarlet O'Hara! It's delicious)! The only slight downside was that the room was small but not surprisingly given that it is a historic hotel within the French Quarter so not much can be updated from the architecture. Also, I spent 5 minutes looking for the hair dryer, not knowing it was hanging behind the bathroom door. All in all a great stay.

Great staff, great location

The Bourbon Orleans hotel is the best location to stay in the French Quarter. The hotel borders Bourbon Street on one side, and is only a block away from the basilica and St. Peter's Square. The staff is awesome, and always there to help. Free coffee in the morning, as well as the mimosa/bloody mary bar are definite perks. Add in a beautiful courtyard and pool, along with a cigar lounge right across the street, and you have the perfect destination.

Pre Christmas Break

All in all a lovely hotel with good amenities and a great location. The weather was not great while we were there, and the hotel lobby was always freezing with the A/C on. Not very inviting and discouraged us from eating in the restaurant.

French Quarter fling

We made the mistake of upgrqading to a loft suite. While the room was nice, it faced on St. Anne Street one half block from Bourbon Street and the disco noise was nonstop. We moved to a room facing the pool court and it was much quiter. The hotel does not have its own bar, resturant or gift shop. You have to leave to eat, drink or buy toothpaste.

Fun Bourbon Street Weekend!

This was a great place to stay! The staff was super friendly, especially Caleb, yes we remembered your name!! Thanks for the great experience. We will definitely stay here again. It's just one block from all the fun at Royal & Bourbon Streets and close to the park! Valet parking was the key...even though it was $34 a day. Well worth it to not have to worry about finding a spot!!

Excellent location

The Hotel is in a great location. It is right next to Bourbon St & Kackson Square. Next to the square is the Cabildo Museum and all the horse carriages and famous Cafe Du Mounte. Also the Riverfront area, royal stree for shopping, EVERYTHING!If you stay there no car will be needed. Rooms have no refrigerator unless you ask for it and breakfast too expensive. If travelling with a handicap person do not recommend because only have ONE handicap room and other bathrooms toiletts are low. But all that is beatten by the location.

Had a wonderful visit

Our room was on the 6th floor overlooking St. Ann Street. We loved the room and the view. Every single staff person we came across was friendly and welcoming. The location could not be beat - 1/2 a block off of Bourbon and close to Jackson Square. I would definitely stay there again. I wish I was still there.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Our best meal was at NOLA on Saint Louis Street. We went for lunch and didn't have to wait for a table. I highly recommend it.
