Fairfield Inn by Marriott Baton Rouge South

We stayed the weekend here for a soccer tournament. The staff was really pleasant. The first room we got had a bad odor. Smelt like it may have had a pet in it before. I asked for another room. That room needed freshening up. Had a musty odor smell in the room. But we stayed. Also, would have liked a washer and dryer at hotel. Other than that, the breakfast area was nice. Thanks!

Was able to secure a last minute hotel stay at the Fairfield Inn. The location was ideal as I had an early flight from New Orleans. The room was basic. Two double beds. Nothing fancy. The chair leg was broken, but I didn't report it. I did use the free wi-fi with no problem. Plenty of parking available. Did have the continental breakfast. Mostly pastries, cold cereal, whole fruit, yogurt and the like. The waffle was good. The exercise room looked great; free weights and cardio machines. Shame I didn't have a chance to check it out. Nearby to restaurants if you have transportation. Check out was easy. Not a luxury hotel, but good if just passing through.

This was my first stay at this hotel. The location is convenient to LSU. The staff was nice and the room was clean.

We really only spent the night because we arrived late and checked out early, but the staff was super friendly!

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times, and would recommend this to anyone coming to the Baton Rouge area. It is very convenient to shopping and LSU. Nice, helpful staff, nice room, clean building.

I enjoyed the inside pool.

My son and I came to South Louisiana so that I could buy my son a guitar at Stan's Music Shoppe in Hammond. We decided on staying at the Fairfield Inn in Baton Rouge so we could also visit his brother (both are my cousins) and eat at Sammy's Grill in BR. The Fairfield in was great. The free breakfast met all of our expectations; we really appreciate it. The room was very clean; everything worked; and the staff was most courteous. This hotel compares very well to the best I've stayed in, especially considering the price. I highly recommend it. The location is excellent as well.

The location was great. I felt as if we were in the middle of the city. We visited the downtown area and enjoyed eating at some great local hot spots. The hotel was very clean, rooms were a nice size, and we really enjoyed the variety of items on the complimentary breakfast buffet.

I really thought staff was excellent. I called ahead to make sure that they knew I was going to arrive at midnight. [...]When we arrived the staff called me by name right away and already had me ready to go to my room. After a long drive it was a pleasant suprise to be able to go straight to my room. I had to go to Baton Rouge for a two day class. When I reserved the hotel I liked the fact that they had an indoor pool, hot tub and breakfast served. I looked forward to enjoying every minute I could in pool and hot tub. Needless to say this was the only let down for the trip. There were no towels in the pool area and the hot tub and pool were greensih in color. We enjoyed the free breakfast and the people were friendly. The rooms were nice and had what I needed.
