21c Museum Hotel

Nice rooms which are different from your average hotel. Hotel nicely located downtown within minutes of everything.

Stopping in Louisville was part of a long family road trip (and I don't usually take road trips). As a regular traveler averaging business trips more than once a month, I am used to top-notch hotels. So I knew to check Yelp as we approached Louisville. I found 21c, saw the great reviews, and booked our room. It turned out to be one of the great highlights of our trip! 21c was not only a fabulous hotel with quality amenities, but very detailed in its approach to design and even more surprising...*friendly*. Not hung up on pretentiousness, 21c was full of attractive, cool people who were more like friends than staff. On top of all that, the art there inspired not only myself, but also my 4-year-old daughter who was traveling with me. Now she keeps asking to go back to the place with the red penguins. Love, love, love! I will accept almost any speaking gig I'm offered in Louisville because of this hotel.

Beautiful hotel with great amenities, right in the heart of Louisville....but for this price, it would be nice if they provided milk or half and half for the gourmet coffee rather than that powdered stuff, yuck! ALso could use nicer down pillows

This hotel is located in the heart of downtown Louisville, so parking is a premium. Expect to pay $24 for valet services. However, this was off-set by the fact that Internet is FREE. Many top hotels assess a daily charge these days. During our stay, the hotel was featuring Cuban artists. The displays were in the hotel lobby and included interactive art of the walls. In front of the elevator, a camera showed you pictures of yourself catching falling letters... Our initial room was not what we had reserved. A call to the front desk initiated a prompt response to correct the deficiency. Our replacement accommodations were excellent. The room was spacious, and floor to ceiling windows allowed a lot of light. Their package includes some nice upscale luxuries such as deluxe bathrobes and environmentally friendly bath products. If you like art...you'll LOVE this setting. Art is everywhere and sometimes in unexpected places. So is whimsy...loved the penguins and the rubber ducky in the shower. Only negative was that it became noisy in the hallways early in the morning & hallway traffic could be heard in the room.

We came in to town for a friend's wedding, and decided to pay a "premium" to stay here instead of crashing at a nationwide hotel chain. My wife and I have been lucky to stay at several higher-end hotels in the past year or so, (Fairmont Boston and SF, Waldorf, Driskill Austin, Dana Chicago)- But this hotel is in a league of its own (with Dana in second) if you are looking for something that is not just "knee jerk luxury"- everything here was unique and beautiful in its own way. Our room has a great bed, a Ipod stereo dock (they even have a preloaded Ipod, although we used our own) a nice TV and a great desk. The bathroom was cathedralesque. The in-room coffeemaker was top notch. Oh- and the ART! Sculpture, paintings, photographs, mixed media- it is everywhere and it is beautiful! Finally, I have to say that the service- especially by the valet/bellhop guys is really the best we have ever seen. They went above and beyond in helping with our bags, not making us wait on our car, etc. True southern hospitality coupled with the up most professionalism.

Exceptional...would stay there again.

21c was a great place for a women's get away weekend. All the modern art is a fun diversion and the rooms were very comfortable. The staff was extremely accomadating and the whole experience is one that I have been recommending to all my friends.
