Original boutique hotel in the heart of the Gold Coast
The Thompson Chicago offers top tier facilities with understated elegance to leisure and business travelers alike. This four diamond property originally opened in 1988 as Hotel 21 East, and was re-launched as Sutton Place in 1995 and fully renovated into the Thompson Chicago in 2013. Decidedly residential, Thompson Chicago specializes in personalized service and presents the sophisticated comforts of a home-away-from-home. The 247-room hotel features bold interior architecture and rich accents by acclaimed British designer Tara Bernerd.Situated off of the lobby will be a signature restaurant by One Off Hospitality, the latest addition to their distinguished portfolio, which includes Blackbird and Publican Quality Meats, among others. The venue will seat 108 guests indoors, with additional seating for 86 on the sidewalk terrace. From the talents behind Blackbird, avec, The Publican, The Violet Hour, and Big Star comes a restaurant with a rustic regional Italian menu with a focus on seafood. Executive Chef Paul Kahan, winner of the 2013 James Beard outstanding chef award, will be at the helm to ensure a warm dining experience.
