Chicago Weekend
The staff at the hotel was wonderful. Everyone was very pleasant and cheerful, and they were aware of our comings and goings. The Thai restaurant in the hotel was an excellent value with wonderful service. While the service at the other restaurant was great, the prices were a bit outlandish. The rooms were comfortable and the bed and pillows actually made it possible to sleep well. The only shock came at the $49 per night parking fee, but I guess that is Chicago. I would definitely stay here again - might take a train next time, though.

The Whitehall is Awesome!
My wife and I recently stayed at the Whitehall for a weekend anniversary trip! The hotel is in a perfect location and with in 5 blocks in any direction are hundreds of restaurants and bars. The hotel itself has old school charm! The staff was excellent and were extremely helpful throughout the weekend. We will stat at the Whitehall again when we visit Chicago!

simply great!
The only reason I didn't give all categories five stars because the hotel was still under renovation...it will be five stars when they finish with construction. The restaurant was excellent, too.

Expensive Valet Parking
My parents and I stayed there for a couple of days. We loved the location as it is located at downtown area of Chicago. However the valet parking charges $45 a day and it is super slow to bring the car... That's the only complaint. Other than that, Chicago is an amazing city and the hotel is so fancy.

Business Trip
I have a conference that I attend at the Drake every December. I have stayed at the Whitehall because of its location and it is a great deal. The room was clean and it good condition. The staff was helpful and courteous. Even with the renovation going on, they had doorman there to help direct.

A Luxury Icon In Decline
The Whitehall was in the process of renovating its Lobby and this made access a little cumbersome. However, our real complaints have to do with the room itself. The furniture was shabby, not all of the lamps in the room worked and the bath tub did not drain well and at the end of a shower we were standing in pooled water. We are unlikely to return to the Whitehall and this is sad because we have stayed there in past years and were always pleased with what we experienced.
