One of the best in Chicago!
We had a terrific 3 night stay at this hotel. The weather wasn't real cooperative but the hotel and its staff sure were. While we have stayed at numerous hotels (at least a dozen or so in that area) over the last years, this hotel was exceptional. It is a landmark hotel and doesn't show its age a bit, as they have done a fantastic job at upgrading and maintaining this hotel. Beds and baths were extremely comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful - will definitely be back!!

Many very good places to eat nearby - L'Apetito at the bottom of John Hancock is great for breakfast or lunch. You also have Ditka's nearby, Grand Lux is good, Giordano's for pizza.

Enjoyable Holiday Getawat
We booked one night, the Sunday before Memorial Day, less than a week in advance. The location, just off the Michigan Avenue "Miracle Mile," and just south of Oak Street Beach couldn't be beat. And the room rate was outstanding. We were nearly three hours earlier than the 3p check-in, and we were fully prepared to check our bags, but the front desk lady allowed us go right up to our room. The room was plush. The only negatives were a hairline crack in the bathroom sink, the lack of a coffee maker #one would be installed in a matter of days, according to a note in the room#, and a TV that had premium stations but wouldn't allow us to access them. The staff was very accommodating, almost bordering on the obsequious. We would return in a heartbeat.

The Foodlife food court located on the mezzanine of Water Tower Place has a tremendous selection of food, much of it locally sourced, deliciously prepared, and reasonably priced.

Great
Great place to stay, great location. Parking is the only issue. It's expensive everywhere. You might find parking is a big pain in Chicago

Great Hotel
This is a great hotel. Great location and wonderful staff. I love that they provide all you can drink free coffee in the mornings and cooling water in the afternoon. That is a great touch and I really appreciated it. The staff is wonderful. Nikki at the front desk is a gem. She and Jim from engineering went above and beyond to fill one of my requests which was truly amazing! Cesar, Danny and Alex were freindly, informative and very helpful. This hotel is just awesome and gives you a personal feel. I would recommend this to everyone. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

This is a nice place with a classy feel and my room was nice and big with a great decor. When this is said, I would say a lot of details and small things are lacking to give a truly good experience. Number one there is no coffee machine in the room, some don't care but I personally love to have a cup before I go out and face the world. Amenities in bathroom did not get filled up daily. You have to pay extra for internet which I think is ridiculous in 1213. That's like asking "Ohh you want electric light in your room? Well you have to pay extra for that...." You just feel nickeled and dimed. I have stayed at Hotel Lincoln at same price and had a better stay there.

Great downtown Chicago hotel
The location is very central and walking distance to many Chicago attractions and train access. Great value for the money. Very clean, spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Probably my only complaint was that an elevator was down, so it took quite a while to get up or down. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the door men to the front desk clerks to the concierge. I would definitely stay again at this hotel.

The Back Room was suggested by the hotel concierge and has great live music in a fun and intimate setting. Very enjoyable R&B bands with minimal cover. Walking distance from hotel (2 1/2 blocks).

Great location and staff, not much else.
Our room was small and a bit musty and our bath even smaller - very difficult for two women. No space on vanity for toiletries, safe did not work, TV was an antique with very few stations, and only one outlet. Location was great and the price a good value, but, would not return here.

Losing its Status
Small old fashioned room TV with a fuzzy picture. Setting room correct room temperature involved setting the temperature controls at least five degrees above or below the temperature you want.

Pathetic
Poor lightnening in rooms. Front desk staff could not find my reservation even though I had a hotel reservation number and asked me to call this website. It happened to another guest while I was there.
