English Country Charm in the Heart of Chicago
My family and I usually opt for modern hotels when traveling. The Talbott is far from modern but is our favorite hotel to stay in when visiting Chicago. We often travel with our children and love to stay in the large suites at the Talbott. The staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. We love the luxury touches at the Talbott, turn-down service, apple tv, and Frette lines. After many delightful stays at this hotel my family considers it our Chicago Home. You will love the location as well as it is in the heart of the Mag Mile but just far enough away to feel like a quiet retreat. I also lived in Chicago for a few years and the Talbott is very close to the subway lines, so if you want to explore the city by el it is very easy to do some from here.

Great Hotel at a great location
Great Location: one block off Michigan Great Staff: helpful considerate, friendly Room: just big enough to stretch out The only concern is the attached restaurant. I am not sure if it is a part of the hotel. We had a very slow, average quality, poor service, pricey breakfast: we did not use again!

A must do is the river cruise. There are many: take the one by the Chicago Architecture Foundation. A little more expensive, but worth it!

This is an ok place
This is a very comfortable hotel with helpful staff. My main reservation is one of wishing that the hotel was decorated in somewhat brighter colours. It makes it look unnecessarily dull. Overall we were pretty pleased with our stay

Weekend getaway
Loved the location of this hotel. Could walk to just about everything. Very close to the Magnificent Mile and lots of restaurants. Only took cab 2 times over 4 days. Would definitely stay here again. Need to put tea pods or tea bags in room. Not everyone drinks coffee!

Mother/Daughter Birthday
My mother and I spent two nights at the Talbott to celebrate our birthdays together. We both lived in Chicago years ago, but have never stayed at this hotel. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. They secured dinner reservations for us on a moment's notice and gave us helpful information about the neighborhood. The location is perfectly located two blocks off Michigan Avenue. We walked to the Art Institute and I jogged each morning along the lake and in Lincoln Park. The hotel has a lovely bistro with outdoor tables where we sat each afternoon for a snack and people-watching. The room was quiet and extremely comfortable. We will stay at this hotel on our next visit to Chicago.
