Good location, but still needs improvements.
Great location, room was clean, but lacked some amenities. Most other hotels of this class have in room coffee makers which the allerton lacks. No body lotion or shower cap were provided. We received complimentary internet access because we had originally booked double beds, but ended up with one queen; however, the Internet connection was really weak and very unreliable. If we were on a business trip, the Internet simply would not be adequate. Beware, the walls are also pretty thin.

Short walk from hotel
Don't shop at Wallgreen where locates at corner, a block away from Allerton, It is the busiest but the most expensive store in Chicago -a small orange costs $1.25.

Chicago get away.
Front desk staff was extremely accomodating. Room was pleasant but maybe I expected a little bit more after hearing about the renovation. Very pleasant stay at a great location.

Family visit to Chicago
The Allerton Hotel location was very convenient for sightseeing and for visiting our daughter who is attending college in Chicago. The staff was very helpful and the hotel, clean and nice. We were a bit disappointed with the shape and size of our room. It was small and long with two double beds facing the short side so that we could barely walk around and couldn't face front-on toward the TV. Nevertheless, we would consider returning to the Allerton and would ask for a better room next time. Thank you to the nice staff!

Great central location with friendly staff
Great price. Completely remodeled since the last time I stayed here. Excellent central location right on North Michigan Avenue. Nice size king deluxe room. It was right next to elevators, and we were concerned that there might be noise. It was minimal and well worth it for the size of the room. Nice small entry hall, large bathroom and large room. View over North Michigan Avenue looking north. Nice decor. Would have preferred complimentary coffee in the room rather than in the lobby. Could not find signal for complimentary WIFI, but it was not a high priority as we did not spend much time in the room. I would definitely stay here again.

Eggperience is a great place for breakfast, high quality, fastpaced, fun atmosphere. Hardworking staff. Foodlife is great food for dinner at a reasonable price at Watertower Place where everyone can choose the type of food they want, Chinese, comfort food, Mexican, etc.

Valentines in Chicago
Everything was fine but it would have been nice if the fire worked in the loungeand a Valentines special was available for an app. or bev. Or..........Flowers or anything lively. We went to see the Kodo drummers at Symphony Hall.

just ok
Location,, location, location thats about it.. Hotel was average. Rooms very small, check in on 2nd floor but you enter on the ground floor. this causes a log jamb competing for the elevators to get to your rooms.. Second time I have stayed here probably won't see a third. Staff treated us very well

You get what you pay for
If you get a good deal on a room here, the front desk seems to know this and asigns a terrible room. If it was not because of a screaming guest in an adjoining room at 3 am, whereby the hotel needed to do something nice, and eventually moved me to a better room, I would have never known a better room even existed. However, the first room was unacceptable at any price.

Great location and staff
Although I booked the hotel one month in advance, the morning of our stay I called the hotel to verify the reservation and they did not have it. Cheap Tickets did call the hotel for us and made arrangements. The staff were very helpful, rooms were comfortable.
