Small but in good location
The main reasons for staying here were the location on the Magnificent Mile and the special reduced price I got on the hotel room. The location couldn't be any better since it's also close to the Loop and the L and subway trains as well as the Lake Michigan attractions, which are only a few blocks away. I thought the room itself and the bathroom small, almost feeling cramped, although since it's a historical hotel, I had expected the rooms to be smaller than those in newer hotels. The bathroom was mostly clean, but I did notice the glass coaster should've been replaced because it had a partial visible ring, while the back of the toilet appeared to not have been completely wiped down. Other than these few things, the bed was comfortable, and even though the room faced Michigan Street, I didn't notice too much loud noise. If I could get a room for a similar price in the future, I would consider staying there again, but otherwise, it may be worth doing a bit more research to see if other more affordable hotels with larger rooms and similar amenities could be found in slightly less central locations.

Nice short stay
We stayed in the hotel for two nights. It's a little confused to find the hotel entrance on the side street and the reception/registration on the second floor. T No coffee maker in room but free coffee in the morning in the lobby.

Good location, but still needs improvements.
Great location, room was clean, but lacked some amenities. Most other hotels of this class have in room coffee makers which the allerton lacks. No body lotion or shower cap were provided. We received complimentary internet access because we had originally booked double beds, but ended up with one queen; however, the Internet connection was really weak and very unreliable. If we were on a business trip, the Internet simply would not be adequate. Beware, the walls are also pretty thin.

Don't shop at Wallgreen where locates at corner, a block away from Allerton, It is the busiest but the most expensive store in Chicago -a small orange costs $1.25.

Stayed for four days and got upgraded on arrival to an executive room. Concierge was excellent for foodie restaurant suggestions and front desk helped with delivery of packages sent by stores after shopping. Room was meticulously cleaned and bathrooms were spotless.
