Chicago hotel on Magnificent Mile with hip martini bar and restaurant
In 1927, notable architects Rissman & Hirschfield, responsible for many highlights on the Chicago skyline, finished a 14-story, gothic-inspired hotel that is now known as the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel. Newly-redesigned guest rooms with spa-style bathrooms entice guests to stay at this classic gateway to the Magnificent Mile. Historical architecture charms while the prime location of the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel allows for a short walk to business meetings in the Loop, famed Chicago attractions and Michigan Avenue shopping.Highlights
- M Bar serves more than 50 martinis and wines, plus light fare with live entertainment
- On-site restaurant
- Historic Magnificent Mile hotel with newly-designed rooms
- Saturday night Dinner Detective Mystery Show (fees apply)
Rooms
After a complete redesign, the 307 guest rooms and suites at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel show off their new look and enhanced comfort with Sealy pillow-top bedding, Frette linens, down comforters and plush pillows. A quiet, toned down neutral scheme receives a punch of cranberry for style. Slip into the terrycloth robe and slippers, pull the blackout shades and raid the stocked mini-bar or unwind in front of the 40-inch flat-screen TV at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel. Bathrooms gleam with spa-inspired design and a rain shower. Connect to high-speed wireless Internet at will (fees apply).
Features
Guests start the day at NiX restaurant, a white-tablecloth bistro that serves breakfast and lunch at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel. After dark, pop into M Bar for a signature martini and live music. Nearly every Saturday night, the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel hosts the Dinner Detective Murder Mystery, a top Chicago murder mystery event and dinner show. The hotel also offers in-room spa treatments, a palatial ballroom with gold domed ceiling and valet parking with in-and-out privileges (fees apply).

Couple getaway
Very clean. Very nice staff. Location was good since it was right off Michigan Ave. However, we didn't know how to use public transportation well and the walk to the train was quite far day after day. I would suggest figuring out which buses will take you to the train and you will be set!

This is a wonderful hotel. Minutes from everything in the city. Walkable to the shopping on Michigan Avenue. A great walk through tree lined neighborhoods. Short bus to the Art Institute. Short cab ride to most restaurants. We'll be back!!! 111

Solid hotel
Spent one night here, it was a nice place to stay. Clean rooms, good value. Just north of the magnificent mile. Room was a tiny bit small but that is being nit-picky.

No More that what we expected
It was fine, due to the price we paid we did not expect that wow experience. The bathroom was renovated so it was nicer that the rest of the room. The Hotel is kind of old but traditional, with a lot of history. Nice location for shopping and dinning

Nice, but a little ragged around the edges.
A classic old hotel in a nice downtown location. Walk to shopping, restaurants, transit and other great attractions. Parking is a pain, the only options are a pricy valet service or a slightly cheaper self-service location across the street. The Knickerbocker's old-time charm comes at a cost: If you look closely, you'll see wear and tear on furniture, finishes, and carpeting, and the tiny, antique elevators are very uncomfortable. Hopefully the dusty, unappealing renovation projects they're working on will make the place a four or five star hotel. Most offensive however is making guests pay for wireless access. Free WiFi is available at countless locations around the country including chain motels and McDonald's--making me pay $9.99 per day seems cheap and old fashioned. If I had it to do over I would stay in a pricier, but cleaner and more modern place nearby.

This is one of Chicago's opulent old neighborhoods, filled with shopping, landmark architecture, and great attractions such as parks and the amazing Newberry Library. It's one of the best Chicago neighborhoods for strolling around and taking in the sights.

Amazing last minute overnight trip
The Millenium Knickerbocker was a very beautifully presented hotel. Guest services and the concierge was very hospitable and put up with my constant questions and phone calls as I was only in town for 22 hours and had a lot to accomplish. It's a fast walk to the "Miracle Mile" shopping, Walgreens (for last minute needs), and several restaurants. The room was very clean, super technologically savvy, and ultra comfortable. I would definitely stay there again!

The hotel was in a pretty good location, not worth the amount that it costs though. Some of the staff was rude and parking was not included and cost over 50$ a day to park, which at the price of the hotel was just a rippoff. Overall I had a good trip and the location suited me, however, if I had been more familiar with the Chicago area I would have probably picked something else.

The room was completely remodeled. The bed was extremely comfortable. The down pillows are amazing except they need fluffing throughout the night...this could cut down on your beauty sleep! lol No question about it...we would return to the Knickerbocker anytime! Thank you for your hospitality.

Great first visit
I came to Chicago to celebrate my birthday. The Millennium was in the most perfect location to see everything (The Bean; Museums; Restaurants etc.). I will definitely be back to visit again. If in Chicago you should stay at The Millennium!
