Chicago hotel on Magnificent Mile with hip martini bar and restaurant
In 1927, notable architects Rissman & Hirschfield, responsible for many highlights on the Chicago skyline, finished a 14-story, gothic-inspired hotel that is now known as the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel. Newly-redesigned guest rooms with spa-style bathrooms entice guests to stay at this classic gateway to the Magnificent Mile. Historical architecture charms while the prime location of the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel allows for a short walk to business meetings in the Loop, famed Chicago attractions and Michigan Avenue shopping.Highlights
- M Bar serves more than 50 martinis and wines, plus light fare with live entertainment
- On-site restaurant
- Historic Magnificent Mile hotel with newly-designed rooms
- Saturday night Dinner Detective Mystery Show (fees apply)
Rooms
After a complete redesign, the 307 guest rooms and suites at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel show off their new look and enhanced comfort with Sealy pillow-top bedding, Frette linens, down comforters and plush pillows. A quiet, toned down neutral scheme receives a punch of cranberry for style. Slip into the terrycloth robe and slippers, pull the blackout shades and raid the stocked mini-bar or unwind in front of the 40-inch flat-screen TV at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel. Bathrooms gleam with spa-inspired design and a rain shower. Connect to high-speed wireless Internet at will (fees apply).
Features
Guests start the day at NiX restaurant, a white-tablecloth bistro that serves breakfast and lunch at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel. After dark, pop into M Bar for a signature martini and live music. Nearly every Saturday night, the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel hosts the Dinner Detective Murder Mystery, a top Chicago murder mystery event and dinner show. The hotel also offers in-room spa treatments, a palatial ballroom with gold domed ceiling and valet parking with in-and-out privileges (fees apply).

Great for the Price
We got a superior room which was very well decorated and clean. The location is great the and staff were very helpful. The only gripe I have is the "Rain Shower" was not to my liking. The water pressure was low and I would have preferred a bath which I will get next time.

Comfy hotel
We stayed in this hotel for 3 days 5/1 through 5/4. We enjoyed the comfortable beds and the hotel felt very clean. Even though there was construction going on out front, we weren't bothered by noise. The location is fantastic. The hotel is located very close to Lake Michigan, Navy Pier and also close enough to Michigan Avenue that you can basically hop onto public transportation easily to get where ever you need to go without a hassle. The only complaint we had was that we were not informed that the parking would be so expensive and hard to find, but what we saw from Chicago that is almost anywhere. My recommendation to future guests...forego the rental car and rely on public transportation if you are staying in the city. Your wallet will thank you. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

Great place to stay!!!
The room was great! The lobby was not under construction when we were there. The room we stayed in had its own personal computer to look up where to eat and attractions. The concierge computer was a great perk!

Hotel
As usual, my stay at the the Nickerbocker was great. Great location, best value, and service throughout my stay. I did however upgrade my room because the initial room I was offer was too small, so the staff upgraded me to a larger room for a small fee, I would highly recommend the Nickerbocker Hotel to my friends and family members.

Good value
Wish we had a room that had a view versus looking at other rooms. Also the hotel was under construction in the front. Great bar with live music and friendly staff.

Pleasurable, relaxing, atmosphere
Staff were more than accommodating to our needs, and the hotel had a casual elegance that was inviting and luxurious. We were disappointed with our 11th floor view, but the comforts of the room made up for not being able to see the Chicago skyline. We enjoyed room service which was prompt and plentiful and comparable to hotels in other cities. We definitely plan to return to the Knickerbocker when we return to Chicago.

In Hotel
Get the room wi-fi for 9.99 per night. It works in the lobby and conference rooms but not in the guest rooms.
