Great

The jr. suite was perfect. On the 24th floor looking south. Very comfortable bed and quiet. Ice had to be ordered up. High end neighborhood and easy to walk around late at night. The hospital was adding a wing next door but we didn't hear anything in the room. Great value thru Orbitz!

North Michigan Luxury

The staff was friendly enough, but especially one of the doorman, Victor. He recommended a pillow for me to use and it was great. The room was excellent, but the bathroom was just okay compared to some of the other boutique hotels in the area. A used bar of soap was let in the shower and so I threw it away. The bar inside the hotel was a bit pricey, so we went to Gino's East next door after having a drink at C-View. Went to the rooftop bar at 10:55 p.m one night and was told last call was announced although it was open and patrons were still enjoying the ambience and view. I was very disappointed as I only spent one night at the hotel. Wonderful fitness facility, though, with 24 hour access. The bed was great and extremely comfortable. No view to speak of, but that was okay. Saw other reviews that said it was noisy. It was a little noisy due to the hospital across the street, but I live in a city, so nothing unusual for me. It would have been nice if someone had mentioned to me about the Prix Fixe menu, but no one did. I just noticed it on the website today. Also, I was told wi-fi would cost; however, if you already have an ATT account, it is free.

Gino's East is right next door and is one of the best pizza places in Chicago. You can get a frozen or half baked to take back home.

How many Stars?

The hotel overall was wonderful. Friendly assertive service, also very accommodating to my odd arrival time, great amenities in the room. The two things I was disapointed with is one, the cleanliness of the room. I the floors were lightly dirty in the bedroom/bathroom area of the room. Personal hairs found underneath the sink counter and on the toilet. Two, the Air Conditioner was rather loud when the condenser kicked on. That should defiantly be looked into. On my two stay's, I had the same problem in different rooms. I am in the hotel industry myself, and know that these things happen, so I am not upset. An affordable additional 30 minutes of cleaning in the room would make a world of difference, and make the hotel stand out among others. Keep everything else up Affinia!

Chicago Trip

The rooftop lounge was what attracted us, and it turned out that it was closed two of our days for private parties, whiche the desk never told us about. And then we finally got up there it did not open until 5:00, it was so nice up there I wish we could have gone up there anytime. Elevators were VERY SLOW and if you needed ice you had to call for it, which took 30 min., service was not great.

A Great Visit!

Our stay at the Afinia Chicago was very enjoyable, The location was convenient to the things that we enjoyed doing, the hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff was kind and friendly, and the on site restaurant, C=HOUSEwas outstanding. The Afinia Hotels have become our hotels of choice when we travel to the cities where they are located.

Definitely Would Go Back

My wife and I take frequent one night "staycations" in Chicago. Affinia is in great location... half block off Mich. Ave., two blocks south of Water Tower. Room was huge, king bed very comfortable. Had a drink at their roof top bar. Friendly staff. Would go back again. We walked to Navy Pier and back on Sun. Walked down Mich. Ave. and back on Monday. Would recommend to friends.

Great location

From the charming valets to the friendly front desk, staff was wonderful. Great room, much better than expected. Pillow menu a nice touch. Philosophy toiletries appreciated Only negative: no coffee/tea service in the lobby on weekends. Local coffee shops crowded and a couple of blocks away. Will definitely stay here again.

Great deal!

I am originally from Chicago but wanted to play "tourist" on this trip. I found a discount for the Affinia and was a bit worried about the staff and the noise, given the previous reviews. However, I thought that this hotel was fantastic. The location was perfect- easy access to the river, the lake, the loop, Michigan Ave shopping, and tons of restaurants nearby. I could easily walk or take the el anywhere I wanted to. The staff was friendly and really helpful. The room was phenomenal- we ended up in a Queen bed suite that was superb! While there was some noise from the ambulances for the nearby Northwestern hospital, it wasn't too bad, especially if you're used to living in a city. I highly recommend this hotel.

Overall, quite nice

The room was modern, comfortable and pretty. We looked out at the Hancock Building. The staff was helpful. The cleaning service forgot to refill our coffee packets, and didn't seem all that thorough. They also woke us up knocking on our door at 8am the day we were to check out! Guess communication isn't great. The location is terrific. We walked - 20min - to the Art Institute, lots of fun Michigan Ave shopping right there.
