Inn of Chicago, an Ascend Collection hotel

Only book this place if you are in desperate need of a place to sleep. We were unable to find ANY other hotel room in Chicago. The staff was rude, the valet was never around and it is the worst hotel room I have ever been in. We only slept in the hotel room, maybe spent about an hour total not sleeping. This place was horrible.

Afer getting used to the smallness of the room with two double beds we found it quite enjoyable. The bathroom is also quite small but usable. The location is perfect, we could walk to the Navy Pier and watch the fireworks on Saturday. Also, there were many great restaurants and pubs within an easy walking distance. Also, the Magnificent Mile is a block away, which was very nice.

I was totally unimpressed with the room. I also felt that some members of staff were rude and inconsiderate when approaching my party. I definately would choose somewhere to stay next time...especially with so many hotels in the area.

The only thing special about this hotel is the great location just off of Michigan Ave. The room was just ok and the staff wasn't great.

Location is perfect, room is clean and comfortable. Great value !

While the hotel may look nice from the internet - it is lacking... $5-$15 charge for internet (while most places are free) no discounted parking - average estimate $40 per night we were stuck with views of a brick wall and building heating etc. the bathroom had no ventilation - smelled of sulphur and the rooms had not been updated since the 70's.

The room was dank and dark, The bathroom floor was dirty, grout was black. Hair in the tub. The towels were tattered, The hallways had the overwhelming smell of deodorizer, The cleaning staff did not speak any English. If I didn't prepay I would have left. It was the worst hotel ever. I'm sure the staff will comment to apologize, which fooled me into making this reservation,. I thought they were attentive or the complaints on line were "one offs". This place is a dump. They should be kicked off of Magnificent Mile!

Very good location. Was able to check-in early with no hassle. Arrived at the hotel at 8:00am. Bathroom was a little small but it worked. Really liked the hotel, only bad thing was the wi-fi connection. Actually the wi-fi and internet connection were poor. We used the business center and paid for internet and still had a very slow connection. Gave up on any internet connection.

Staying here feels like you are in the middle of everything - shopping and restaurants, even a great grocery store. I highly recommend it. The only thing I wish my room had was a refrigerator, even a little one, so I can store leftovers from the great restaurants around there. But that's ok. Everything else was great. Nice bar too.

The staff is fantastic, calling cabs, providing me with an extra key, knowing the hours of surrounding businesses. The bed was very comfortable and quiet. The bathrooms are dated, but clean. The elevators are excessivley slow. The bar is a nice touch but some patrons should have been cut off earlier.
