Out of control
I spent 8 nights at the Cass Hotel:the first 3 nights,it was impossible to sleep because of the dozen of children(from Ohio) screaming in the corridor,slamming the doors,partying 6 or 7 by rooms,out of control.Where were the parents or the teachers?Of course,when I complained at the desk,they said they will send someone,nothing was done,how could they!! When the kids left,the hotel was adequate:small rooms but clean and well decorated and equiped,good location.It is regrettable that the management does not care more for its clients comfort by avoiding those disturbing out of control groups.

Good location, but very dirty room.
You can't beat the good location. It is blocks away from Michigan Ave, Hard Rock Cafe, and several other hot spots in that area of Chicago. However, the rooms were VERY tiny. Seriously, the room was big enough for a queen size bed and a small table. I can live with that with the semi-decent price (compared to others in the area), its the lack of cleaning that really bugged me. When we got there it looked like the toilet hasn't been cleaned in weeks. There was fecal matter AND dried toilet paper stuck to the seat. After complaining nothing was done about it. After staying there 3 days and it STILL not getting cleaned we were outta there. Never going to stay there again. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Bad Experience
When we first arrived and checked in the room we had had so many spiders inside and outside and even on the bed when we complained to the front desk the lady said well the spiders are trying to come inside becuase it is hot outside and moved us to another room while in the second room this time we only could see one spider in this room.

Chicago`s experience
Hotel Holiday Inn Express, great Location, BAD Service at front desk, if you have any request no body can help you if you try to talk to the manager on duty no body responds! so you feel like you are on your own and nobody can help you!

the good the bad and the really ugly
the hotel was advertised as remodeled???? The lamp shade was in shreads, the furniture was worn and had all kinds of dents, missing parts and worn areas. The beds have been there forever. Old and not that comfortable. The heating unit blew cold air, and the maintenance person offered to move vents so they did not blow directly on me. The compressor was so noisy it kept me awake. Not worth the price no matter how close it is the the Magnificent Mile.

Not Great
staff was ok, but the room was ridiculously small. and waiting for elevator everytime for 5 to 10 minutes gets old in a hurry.

Intense
Can't say I would stay here again... It was noisy in the hotel.. Staff was not pleasant, room was impeccably small! Shower flooded the bathroom, there was something smudged on the headboard... just disturbing to say the least!

Inexpensive but dirty
Inexpensive hotel but room very dirty. Found rotting food and gum wrappers under desk and bed when checked in. Room very small and window looked directly into another hotel room. Kept shades drawn but didn't completely block window. Like Chicago and will definitely visit again but not at this hotel.

Extremely Cozy!
This hotel is located in a great section of town. Superb shopping and excellent resturants abound in this locale. The hotel breakfasts are ample and tasty. The rooms are quite small. It is past time to change the carpet. Hotel staff is helpful and polite.
