Perfect Vacation Central

Hotel is well maintained and staffed with friendly people who enjoy what they are doing. Just off Michigan Avenue shopping and northeast corner of John Hancock Building so you always know where your hotel is if unfamiliar with Chicago. The downstairs restaurant was hotel pricey but very good food and service. I will be back!

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Pleasant walk to Navy Pier. The one-hour architecture tour is highly recommended. I learned a lot even though I have been travelling to Chicago for over 30 years.

One night stay in Chicago with my boyfriend

It was great. I had a special discount from the cheap tickets and with that discount I received and very good room. Usually in downtown Chicago I am in tiny rooms you can barely move in (which I was fine with), but here we got an extra "living room" area for the same price. It was awesome. Also they did not pack the fridge with high priced items - so the fridge was actually an amenity we could use! The only bad thing was all there phone lines went down, they couldn't find me a toothbrush (I forgot mine) and the front desk lady wasn't the most pleasant. But for the amazing room and cleanliness I will forget about the not-so-perfect staff service.

average

i made reservation of one king bed but hotel gave me 2 double bed. I asked the hotedl manager the reason and he said that when i made a reservation through cheap ticket they cannot guarantee the room what the customer want. Because i bought hotel and air line cheaper than normal price. Next time when i travel I do not want to book thru a cheap ticket and also tell my friends about this happening.

Everything was great. I just wished the pool was actually heated like the description said. My son made me go in the pool and swim with him and it wasn't easy!

Hilton Suites with the Griswald Girls

I like the large suites very much. I also like the top floor pool with the view of the lake. The location is pretty good. It was clean in the ways that really mattered such as no hairs left on floors, sinks, beds, etc. but it really needed to be dusted. The elevators were slow and the gift shop was late to open; however, the hotel gave me a complimentary coffee ticket to take to the restaurant next door which by the way was pretty slow the day before for lunch. The staff was very nice and helpful. The things I would like to see changed would be faster elevators (not sure if all were operating) cleaner carpeting in the room (bad stain in my room) faster removal of dishes in the hallway

Overall pleased!

I think this hotel is great for the value! We stayed in a suite and loved the extra room and the fact that the living area was separated from the bedrooms. The room was very clean, our housekeeper was SO attentive! The location is close to all shopping and it is very easy to catch a cab from the hotel if you don't want to walk. I would stay again! The one downfall is the hotel bar/restaurant. It is overpriced and the staff is unfriendly. So plan on eating outside of the hotel and you will have a great experience!

Room with a view

The room was very nice! We even had a bit of a view of Lake Michigan. The bed was comfortable, although, I must say not as comfortable as the ones at the Courtyard Marriott on Hubbard. Location was Ok if all you wanted to do was shop but the cab rides were a bit expensive if you wanted to go to the museums. Overall, I was happy with my stay but next time location will really dictate where I stay.

Great Chicago Hotel

I have been to Chicago many times, but this was the first time as a mom. I have a 6 month old son and this hotel was perfect for us! The staff was so helpful and friendly. The room was great for all the extra things that I now have to travel with...pack n play, bottles, toys, etc. The only bad part was that our window was very difficult to shut and I did not notice it was even open until very late at night so the room got pretty cold and noisy. However, first thing in the morning, I called the front desk and they immediately sent someone up to fix it and gave us vouchers for their breakfast buffet which was great! Will definitely stay there again!!

A little pricey, but that's expected with any Hotel in Chicago. You get what you pay for, and I got my money's worth with this hotel.

Comfortability of room

The living room of the suite we had was on the small side; smaller than Hampton Inn's but large enough for our use. The fridge was a SMALL dorm size fridge that we had to pull out of the cabinet to get the pizza box in. The mircrowave didn't work. There was no sink in the kitchen area. To wash something or get a drink of water you had to go to the bathroom. It seemed even when we turned the heat up the room was cool but that may have been because we had the fan on all the time. The staff was wonderful and friendly. Maid service was excellent. Sounds like I complained a lot above but really did enjoy the stay there. Good locaton but long walk to public transit.

Shopping tip: Long walk from hotel

LEARN to use the bus service even if shopping on the mirale mile. Can save the pushing of the heavy side walk traffic.
