Hard Rock
Great location, had a great view of millennium park. I asked for a room on a higher floor and the front desk switched rooms without any problems. Check in time was at three p.m., but we were able to check in at around 11 a.m.

beware of ice machine
When booking I requested two rooms near each other. We arrived around 4:30 and were given two rooms with adjoining numbers so we thought, no problem. That is until we got to our rooms and one was around the corner and the other was right next to the ice machine. We went back down to the desk and asked to switch rooms and were told they were 100% booked for the night. (Bon Jovi concert and Rock-N-Roll half marathon) Clearly not everyone had checked in but they still would not switch rooms, told us to check back in a couple of hours! [...]We checked back later that evening and were told there wasn't anything they could do for us. Front desk staff were very rude and could have cared less about helping us.

Great Stay at the Hard Rock
Really enjoyed our stay at the Hard Rock. Nice room. Would stay again. Probably one of the nicer hotels I've stayed at in Chicago based on the room. Very modern and updated. Bathroom could be bigger, but was still nice. I rated the hotel as noisy only because Transformers 3 was filming outside the hotel. The explosions during the filming were loud, but it didn't really bother me. It was fun to watch.

The good, the bad, and the really ugly.
The only good thing about my stay was the location to my business conference. The carpet was nasty and dirty; not to mention soaking wet outside the bathroom. I was not allowed to move to a different room. Also; having to pay additionally for internet service I thought was outrageous; considering the price per night paid for the room. I would not recommend this hotel.

hard rock chicago
The stay at the hotel was fine, but nothing memorable. Staff was friendly and the room was very plain. We weren't looking for anything fancy, but the actual room didn't look anything like the pictures online. My biggest complaint was that we requested a non smoking room when we reserved but got a smoking room when we checked in. No-one at the front let us know it was a smoking room when we were checking in. When I called down to see if there was a mistake, the person at the front desk told me that all the other rooms were booked and we couldn't change rooms. She offered to have someone come up and spray. I'm not sure if that ever happened because the room smelled like smoke for the rest of the stay.

Hardrock hotel Chicago
I choose the corner king platinum room with views of the city. Gorgeous and spacious! The only thing I didn't like was parking. Valet is expensive and the next block over is public parking which is also expensive. I recommend this hotel for couples or a single person on a weekend trip. Very cool!!! Loved it!!

birthday
it was nice to get 20% off dinner at the china grill for a birthday dinner. the location was great for walking to millenium park, state street shopping and michigan ave shopping. it would have been great to get an electric quitar instead of an acoustic for the room though.
